Cheli,

The nasal spray does contain live virus, and I know that we who have

RA or any other autoimmune disease should not have it. I don't know

about your family, though. That would be a good question to ask your

rheumatologist or the health department in your area. Or maybe someone

else will have the answer for you tomorrow.

Cheli,

I was told by my Rhuematologist that he wanted me to get the vaccine... He told

me I could only get the dead virus which is the shot... He also advised that

anyone in my house getting vaccinated should get the dead (shot) vaccine also...

However, its been my experience that each docs oppinion is and can be different.

I had a bad day. I got so tired I forgot to call my doctor. I'm going to tell

them they need to get the shot and that's all they will give them. Lol.

Cheli,

The American College of Rheumatology (ACR) recommends that you get the

shot in the arm (not the attenuated nasal vaccine). Those in your

household should also get the inactivated vaccine (the shot in the

arm).
