Guest guest
Hello, I too am amazed that we have one of the most painful disease known to man and they act like we have drug seeking behaviors just because we want relief. I had pain pills left over from a dental visit and took one Sunday afternoon (Darovet). It allowed me to sit down with my granddaughter and read a book and not be distracted by pain.. I'm switching doctors. I'm sick of her prancing in the office after I've waited in the little room for over and hour and dismiss me within 5 minutes. My advise..don't put up with their attitude. If they don't have the ability for empathy...just money..find someone who cares. Judith
Guest guest
Hi Judy: I so agree with you. What kind of Rheumy will let his/her patients suffer with unbearable pain. Not my Rheumy, thank God. Our Rheumy appts. can run long with lots of things to discuss. Shame on yours, and I am happy you are seeking a more compassionate, understanding one. We don't need to suffer like that. Guest guest
Hi Judith- I have to agree with you on this. I realize taking something for pain masks the real issue but there is a fine line between masking the " cause " and a quality of life issue. I think if every RA doc out there could experience the pain that we go thru for just one day, then there would be more empathy. But since that isn't about to happen, I agree, you have to find a doc that DOES listen and does have empathy. A good doctor can and will monitor pain meds (as they should) so that using them never becomes a problem. in SC From: Judith Beedie <judithbeedie@...> Subject: Re: [ ] Re: rheumy and pain meds Date: Wednesday, October 28, 2009, 1:17 PM Hello, I too am amazed that we have one of the most painful disease known to man and they act like we have drug seeking behaviors just because we want relief.
