Guest guest
Hi : I highly recommend " Bag Balm " . I used to get bad cracks on my feet and heels, very, very, painful. When I use the Bag Balm, I put a large amount on the area's affected, and put large bandages on them. I also keep socks on my feet during this treatment. I hope this treatment works for you. Wishing you pain free days. Guest guest
My best friend HAD the same problem, she's an RN and had tried EVERYTHING, her's were to the point of bleeding. One day in the summer of 07 we were at a garden fair together and came across a woman that sold 100% Shea Butter. She imports it from Africa in it's original nut form (it's a huge nut, bigger than a basketball) and then redistributes it into smaller cosmetic jars. We both bought one. Put it on every day and your heels will heal, it just amazing. When she ran out and couldn't find the original seller we searched the internet, there are many people selling it but just make sure it's 100%, we have not been able to find it in the stores. It doesn't smell the greatest but it works. Good luck, in PA [ ] DRY HEELS At times during the year both of my feet have very dry cracked heels. This makes it almost impossible to walk. I have tried every OTC I can find. Does anybody have any ideas? Guest guest
Hi - I have the same trouble. I keep my feet as smooth as possible with a type of pumice stone. Miracle Foot Repair works really good on restoring the moisture and helping with cracked heels. You've just got to be consistent with using it - which I'm not. Also, don't go barefoot. That is something else that I've had to adjust to. Keeping something on your feet helps to hold the moisture in also. Hope this helps..........Doreen > > At times during the year both of my feet have very dry cracked heels. > This makes it almost impossible to walk. > I have tried every OTC I can find. > Does anybody have any ideas? > > Desperate In Georgia >
Guest guest
Hi! I have terribly cracked heels, but my grandson's are even worse. I got a free sample in the mail of Flexitol Heel Balm and really liked it. So I bought a tube. It was kinda expensive, about $7 for a 2.5 oz tube. But it has really been helping! My grandson is diabetic and we have to be careful with his feet and this stuff has worked really well for us. Also, put on baby oil straight out of the shower. That seems to help me with dry skin also this time of year. Phyllis
Guest guest
I read somewhere that cracked heels can be a sign of skin fungus too, so it couldn't hurt to add some Lotrimin or an antifungal to a rich cream. ________________________________ From: Phyllis son <mammap@...> Sent: Friday, December 5, 2008 7:16:30 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Re: DRY HEELS Hi! Guest guest
I agree, I did that over the summer. I used aquaphor and dollar store antifungal at night and wore socks to bed since it's greasy. Also,I gave in and bought one of those Ped Eggs they've advertised so much. Those things really work! I do have to be careful with it since I have psoriasis but it was worth the 10.00 investment. jane > > I read somewhere that cracked heels can be a sign of skin fungus too, so it couldn't hurt to add some Lotrimin or an antifungal to a rich cream. > > > > > ________________________________ > From: Phyllis son <mammap@...> > > Sent: Friday, December 5, 2008 7:16:30 AM > Subject: Re: [ ] Re: DRY HEELS > > > Hi! Guest guest
I have dry feet and I use a PedEgg. It doesn't hurt a bit and it works wonders on your feet. I even gave one of them to my mom and she loves it. Sharon On Fri, Dec 5, 2008 at 12:57 PM, Fair <kalfoley@...> wrote: > Aquaphor is the best! Guest guest
Hi Phyllis - I agree with the baby oil. When I lived in VT, I used to keep a bottle of it in the shower - otherwise I broke out in a horrible rash that wouldn't go away until well into spring......Doreen > > Hi! Guest guest
My heals get super dry and hard. My mom sent me the ped egg and I took one look at it and was scared to death to use it. It looks like it would hurt. Well I gave it a try (what could hurt worse than RA right) and the thing works wonderful. I have had the heel problem all my life and tried all sorts of pumis stones and such and this this is great! Once I get all the hard dead skin off I moisturize and stay on top of moisturizing. I also try not to be bear foot. Good luck, > > At times during the year both of my feet have very dry cracked heels. > This makes it almost impossible to walk. > I have tried every OTC I can find. > Does anybody have any ideas? > > Desperate In Georgia >
Guest guest
I forgot to say that it didn't hurt at all. Sorry! > > My heals get super dry and hard. Guest guest
Hi Jane - I have the Ped Egg too, and like it so much better than the razor that they sometimes use at the salons. Definitely worth the $10. Doreen > > > I agree, I did that over the summer. Guest guest
-I have had dry heels if I don't keep on top of them. They will crack open and it is painful. Probably not good to have a open sore. I see a dermatologist regularly for my psorasis and the only lotions they recommend are (ones that are at the any store) not the prescriptions one i also have to use : 1. Aquaphor was the number one product recommended by my Dermotologist two weeks ago - I have seen her for two years and she is a very aggressive doctor. New doctor - and she tells you the truth. I walked in and she said you look horrible, you skin is way too dry and here is what I wants you to do....etc. and wrote it all down for me over the counter and wrote the scripts for the latest greatest for the psoraris. My skin is flaring from stress - my Dad passed away November 1st. 2. Eucerin creme in the jar - Walmart makes the no name same thing for a 16 ounce jar about $3.50. Eucerin in same size is about $14.00 here. 3. Cetaphil cream is one of the lightest cream that does not get all gooey - so it you don't want a heavy feeling and have light dryness 4. Vaseline if a good mositurizer just out of the tub - it seals in the moisture and protects the skin from the low humidity numbers There is also some others free samples she gave me. Personally the aquaphor new on the market is the best. My problem is I sleep in socks it makes my body temp so hot that I can't stay asleep. My hands split open from the psorasis, and wearing gloves to bed wtih cream is miserable. Thus the humidity here right now is 25%. I bought an entire whole house humidty device. Set it for 47% humidity to turn on. Well it is at 25% humidy, and it states it is humidifying now - but I don't even know why it does not turn on automatically when it goes under 47%. I feel like my entire body is cracking. OK I AM RANTING - so if you are still reading - If you have an open dry spliting on the skin - then see a doctor for safety - and/or add the socks/an antibiotic cream/and a heavy mosituring cream like Euceren or a Walgreen's cheaper same stuff. In a jar - Baby oil CLOGS up your pores. Remember that when using. I have been to the doctor over 20 years for help - no one EVER said use Baby oil at all. I live in Austin, Texas. Maybe it is different in other climates and diferent states. God Bless you all. -- In , " ktandtm " <ktandtm@...> wrote: > > I forgot to say that it didn't hurt at all. Guest guest
, I use Euceren (sp) it is a thick cream. I cover my feet with it and just glob it on then I put socks over it. I did this for about 3 nights . I slept in the socks. Mine are doing much better. Yon also use baby cream if you can find it in the store. it real thick and comes in a jar not a reg lotion container. Guest guest
Dear , The first thing you need to do is get a pedicure whether professional or home the result of the pedicure is the same. The dead, dry skin had been exfoliated and the fresh new skin is naked. But be careful, you could do more damage if you don't know what you are doing. Once the pedicure is complete the lotion is absorbed in the freshly exposed skin and now is therefore beneficial.
