I hope that the anti-virals work well and that you have no lasting effects. If it were me, I think that I'd hold off on the Enbrel until you talk to the rheumy. Guest guest Posted December 8, 2008 Report Share Posted December 8, 2008 , I do hope you are feeling better by now! I cannot imagine having Shingles around the eye! Good luck on starting the Enbrel. I'm sure your Dr. will steer you in the right direction on when to begin the treatment. I had a serious case of Shingles a few weeks ago, & will resume the Enbrel next week. I had IV anti-viral medication for 3 weeks, so he had me to stay off the MTX & Enbrel for a while. I am a little cautious on resuming it, but feel that the benefits outweigh the possible side effects for me. Good luck to you!
