Guest guest
Judy, Thanks so much for replying to my post. I'm going to try, and get to the doctor tomorrow, and get my labs done. I start getting sick when its almost time for my dose of vit D. I have read some info on the PC, and I just want to make sure its not something else. Yes, you should ask your doctor to check your vit d, its so important. I've noticed a lot of people with RA, have low vit d levels, weird huh? If your having too many side effects of your meds, let your doctor know. They can change you around, and get you on something that agrees with you. I also have cholesterol problems. I'm not on anything right now, but a vitamin,(that helps lower cholesterol,) we'll see soon. I was on different meds, and all of them made me sick. I would have problems with leg pain, it was just horrible. You know RA can also effect your lungs, so you really do need to find a lung specialist, and find out your diagnosis. So, your not on any RA meds? Is your RA mild? I have severe RA, and there is no way, I could go without my meds. I would probably just curl up and die. I do hope you get some answers soon. If your not happy with your doctor, get another one, you need to take care of yourself. Take care, and gentle hugs, Tawny --- In , Judy Blackmon <judyscoupons@...> wrote: > > Hi Tawny... Guest guest
Hi Kami, Between my two doctors, I hope they can get to the bottom of it. I've noticed its common for people to have this problem with RA. I'm not sure why, if its the meds, or what. You are very lucky, you got back on track. Just make sure your doctor stays on it, cause it could go down again. I hope all goes well with you. Yes, having all these problems, are a big PAIN. It just never seems to go away. I am not a gastric bypass patient. I know they do have problems with it. I can't be in the sun for long, between the meds, and my rosacea, its just not a good idea. I will get my lab work done at my GP doc, and maybe she'll help me out. I know my RA doctor, doesn't do all that stuff. I appreciate you so much, thanks for posting, and I hope you have some good days this summer, to have fun with your family. Guest guest
I'm going through it too, today was kind of a bad day but I'm trying to seperate my mental outlook from what's going on with my physical condition. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I let it drag me down and I don't like that feeling. I just try to keep marching forward because that's about all we can do and I have found the only people that understand what it means to have RA in this Group. Stan, Seattle, very Rainy. It is nice to bring laughter into this disoriented life now. We all miss our old life, wherever it went too. Its nice though, to know, were not alone in this battle we wake up to each day. Hope she takes me off of it --this Sat (my appt.); but I'm afraid she will Not! But when she put me on it - she stated that my thyroid was a little bit low; I'd not gained any weight in a few yrs. Now - + i'd lost about 5 lbs. this past year, so I don't know!!! bye for now; Have a good week! I live in East Central Florida and this " tropical-like " storm system that has been hovering all week is just sending me over the top in pain and flares. I wondered if you were getting some of this, too and if that is why you are feeling the increase in pain as well. Praying for more normal barometric pressures... ..Doreen Tawny! Thanks for your kindness and reply. Did you get to your Doc today? Which type of Cholesterol med did you take -when your leg or legs hurt so badly? If it was Simvastin( Zorcor: brand name, i think -- how many mg. were you on, daily. I'm just curious. Sis told me she knew 2 different persons who had Ankle trouble with Statin drugs and that they Both stopped taking it. One of those persons was Counselor at Mental Heatlh. This Sis and I, are both bi-polar, unfortunately. I won't write a book this time; l o l! know you don't feel good and are probably real busy, doing research - same way I'm trying to do, also! I wish you -the Best in Health and hope you STOP hurting! I wish your R.A. to get to be in remission -- like mine seemed to do - over past 6 years. I was lucky , but my luck Might be changing, because mine seems to be trying to Become worse. But i do think my thyroid med and /or my cholesterol med.is causing my Stress/ nerves to Become WORSE, therefore causing my R.A. to be flaring up, but CURRENTLY - I'm not in bad pain, but am having some pains again -AFTER several years; but my swelling is WORSE RECENTLY in my fingers. Will close this for now! Have a good Week! I'll be praying for You! Your R.A. pal, Judy in GA. (USA). I'M IN MY UPPER 50'S.

I am a night owl, and had a glass of tea in my hand, and I was suppose to be fasting. So, I will try again, its not easy, on my schedule. I don't remember what cholesterol meds I was taking, sorry. Now, I'm scared to death of all of them. So, I'm looking forward to seeing the lab work, I really hope everything is normal. Norm, usually don't work for me though, we'll just have to see. I'm sorry your having problems with pain now. You need to let your doctor know, if your having swelling in pain from the RA. It helps to get it out, instead of letting it eat you inside. It is nice to bring laughter into this disoriented life now. We all miss our old life, wherever it went too. Its nice though, to know, were not alone in this battle we wake up to each day. Just know your not marching alone, were all there beside you. Feel better soon, my friend, Tawny > > > > I'm going through it too, today was kind of a bad day but I'm trying to seperate my mental outlook from what's going on with my physical condition. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. For me personally, I kind of view the whole RA thing as funny, sometimes it hurts so bad I can't believe it, it hurts so bad I just laugh to myself 'cause it's really just unbelievable. Sometimes I let it drag me down and I don't like that feeling. I just try to keep marching forward because that's about all we can do and I have found the only people that understand what it means to have RA in this Group. > > > > Stan, > > Seattle, very Rainy. > > > > >

Guest guest
Judy, have you ever taken a statin for cholesterol? I get a 90-day supply of mine, pravastatin, from WalMart for $10, and it's keeping my total cholesterol down around 150. I have not had any adverse side effects from it. Guest guest
Hi Judy, It's very hard for me to sleep long. I wake up so much, when I do go to sleep. Sometimes, I just start tossing so much, I just give up. When I worked, it was nights, so as they say, " can't teach a dog new tricks. " LOL, I guess that is the case with me. No, the pain just takes over, as usual. I'm glad your getting some lab work done, keep us posted how it goes. I hope the meds you order help you. I have never heard of those meds. I know a lot of people try the supplements, the more natural way. I hope you hear from someone thats tried them, and had great success. My rheumy is aggressive to treat the RA. I have severe RA, so I have just decided this is the best way for me. I deal with all the meds I take, and I know if not taking them, I would be bed-ridden. I'm sorry to hear about your sister, its so sad. I hope she will open up to you. I'm sure she is scared, just try to talk with her. We all need someone to deal with all craziness. Hope your day is going well for you, Tawny --- In , Judy Blackmon <judyscoupons@...> wrote: > > Hi Tawny! just a few sentences; I'm a nite-owl, too! Guest guest
Hi Judy - its wonderful that you've gotten some sunshine for a couple of days now. Here, it is raining here AGAIN - Day 5 (or is it 6?). I don't know anymore. I am not familiar with the company or products you are considering. I personally have not had good luck with herbal remedies for RA. I can't advise you either way, but if it were me, I wouldn't waste my money. These OTC arthritis remedies are (IMHO) for people who have wear and tear, age related arthritis. I've yet to see anything that will help to calm down and stop the devastating effects of RA. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.....Doreen > > Doreen: Hi! i live not from from Athens, GA./ N.E.
