I added 800 micrograms of folic acid to the 1.3 mg I was already taking and the stress let up some and it got better -- which brought me up to 2.1 mg a day. Then a couple of weeks after dropping Arava and starting Remicade, I went through another period of hair loss. No accounting for this one. Stress was not up. I was forgetting to take the additional folic acid pretty often though. My hairdresser said that I have lots of new hair growth in the back and it's curly. But I need it in the front and it's not growing back there. dd **************Make your life easier with all your friends, email, and favorite sites in one place. Try it now. Guest guest
I have not seen any hair loss/thinning on Humira. I saw thinning and a texture change on MTX but nothing with Humira. In fact, my hair has never felt better! w] ~]ss Kami ss] ~]w [ ] At this rate, I will be bald in a week! Hi everyone Well, since starting the calcium folinate, I had noticed a significant reduction in the amount of hair loss I was experiencing. I take mtx, arava, plaquenil, folate and calcium folinate. All of a sudden, it has started again and I am losing massive amounts of hair. I am seeing the rheumy tomorrow and think he is going to start me on humira or enbrel but I wanted to check and see if anyone has experienced hair loss on the biologics. Guest guest
Cheryl, I have been on Enbrel for over five years, and have not had hair loss. That's a good thing, since my hair is very fine and also thin. Guest guest
Cheryl and group; I noticed hair loss with MTX. I had to quit it cause it was putting itching welps on me. I been taking humira injections since october and haven't noticed any hair loss. Your are so right Cheryl, we have enough to deal with and than the meds give us problems. I just hate the pain. My hair is real thin anyway. I keep it short cause letting it grow doesn't look right becaue of how thin it is. Lots of luck with your visit to the rheumy. gentle hugs Clora ******************************************************* > > Hi everyone > > Well, since starting the calcium folinate, I had noticed a significant > reduction in the amount of hair loss I was experiencing. Guest guest
Thanks everyone. He is putting me on Humira and am now off Arava so here's hoping I will stop losing so much hair and it will actually start growing back! > > Cheryl and group; > > I noticed hair loss with MTX.
