Guest guest Posted February 25, 2008 Report Share Posted February 25, 2008 Hey everyone, Just wanted to give you an update. The infections are GONE! Finally! Took alot of Levaquin but it cleared. It no longer hurts to insert the catheter and when it is in, I dont even realize it is in. At the beginning, I coughed a whole lot and you cough us "hair balls". Really gross stuff. But that has even stopped. The doctor has given me those cute little yellow pills (tussin?) and I hardly cough at all. Having the hose hooked at my waist is really convenient and I no longer get jerked when it gets caught. The 3 big tanks are now set at 7 total....from 14 to 7, it was gradual though and so far it is ok. my sats normally stay at 87 all the time and will drop substantially when I walk to the bathroom etc. but now will recover quickly. The Doctor is now having me keep a journal of my sats throughout the day and says he fells like the transtrachaeal thing is really going to help me. I have not fainted once since I have had it and before the surgery, I fainted three times a day average. Still cant do much but each day because of my plummeting sats but each day it appears to be better. Janine called last week to say she had the transtrachael ssurgery five weeks ago. She is on 5 and 5 at this time. This disease is sure not for weak people. You have to be strong. This is the week that Kathie is supposed to be in my little town. Anxious to see her.
