Coetta, as long as you can stand the pain and function well enough, don't

have the surgery. That's the same thing doctors and most of us will advise.

My wife and I just saw our spine doc yesterday, having the same problems.

His prescription was for physical therapy and a more healthy diet since

she's overweight (aren't we all, almost?). He doesn't even support a knee

surgery, which may be necessary soon. I absolutely believe that the muscles

need to be repaired in order to repair the back, and that means lots of

exercise. I don't know what her PT will say but we have a Gazelle and a

recumbent bike that will need more use, so we need to redesign our living

room so we can watch our soaps at the same time. ;)

Thank you for the response Dennis. I have my vicodin for breakfast and then thru

out the day. I have pretty much decided not to do it. It is so scary. I also

need to lose weight. My meds don't help any, but it is hard to exercise when you

hurt so bad. I can't stand very long before my back is hurting so. I have done

injections and the radio frequency, but the injections make me so sick for a

couple of weeks , I just don't think they are worth it for no longer than they

last. Thank you again and good luck to you and your wife.
