Guest guest
Coetta, as long as you can stand the pain and function well enough, don't have the surgery. That's the same thing doctors and most of us will advise. My wife and I just saw our spine doc yesterday, having the same problems. His prescription was for physical therapy and a more healthy diet since she's overweight (aren't we all, almost?). He doesn't even support a knee surgery, which may be necessary soon. I absolutely believe that the muscles need to be repaired in order to repair the back, and that means lots of exercise. I don't know what her PT will say but we have a Gazelle and a recumbent bike that will need more use, so we need to redesign our living room so we can watch our soaps at the same time. Guest guest
Thank you for the response Dennis. I have my vicodin for breakfast and then thru out the day. I have pretty much decided not to do it. It is so scary. I also need to lose weight. My meds don't help any, but it is hard to exercise when you hurt so bad. I can't stand very long before my back is hurting so. I have done injections and the radio frequency, but the injections make me so sick for a couple of weeks , I just don't think they are worth it for no longer than they last. Thank you again and good luck to you and your wife. Coetta > > > > > > > Hi, > > Has anyone had a disc replacement? I have some herniated disc and my L5 S 1 > > has arthritis and is herniated.
