This loony tune was 16 years " sober. " Wonder how many people

he may have sponsored in that time. Frightening thought.

In AA, total whackos can and do serve as " advisors to life "

to very vulnerable people. The scarey thing is that these

people are adored and considered " qualified to sponsor " solely

on the amount of time that they have not taken a drink of

alcohol. No other qualification necessary. Just not drinking.

I met so many that should not even be trusted to train a

parakeet, let alone advise a human being. And many of those

were highly respected solely because of their time in the cult.

Really? Is that in the article, or have you heard of this case?

I did a search on his name and came up with a number of articles,

hoping for more info. Some of the articles don't admit this all

happened in and around and because of AA and AA beliefs. Having many

versions to compare tells me a lot about how the media has so much

power.

If it were an article about a school kid going berserk, it would have

been on national news.

Wouldn't it be great to get to the point where AA and rehab murders

and crimes are on national news. There are so many more of them than

schoolyard killings it's unbelievable.

Take just about any local news archive, type " alcoholics anonymous "

into the search box, and see what you come up with. Believe me, it

isn't just meeting schedules and rags to riches stories of praise.

These types of articles are almost as common. No, actually, the most

common results are people who are sentenced to aa meetings.

It's incredible. I'm doing these searches now in my spare time. In

some of them, what actually happened isn't clear without further

search. I got this story when perusing another paper. All the story

said was an ex-mayor got shot in an AA meeting. So I ran the names of

the principles in google, and then read all the results. Most of the

best ones were in the local Colorado newspapers where it happened.

It's incredible.

Anyone with a little extra time who wants to do searches, please go

ahead, and send me links. I'm posting the links in the article

section on my site.

That's for sure. I had a sponsor like that once--looked good and

sounded good at meetings, had " time, " but she couldn't handle anger

or

prolonged stress. She was also a religious fanatic who thought it her

duty to make everyone around her behave as her religous beliefs

prescribed. She also went berserk, but in a more minor way, thank

goodness.

Best,
