Guest guest
            Hi , I am 43yrs old and I was dxed about a year and a half ago with RA and had 2 positive markers for Lupus, at 17 I had a Xray that showed arthritis in my spine and hips of a 40 yr old but never went to a rheumatolagist until 1.5 yrs ago, after my joints were disfigured. If I would have been dxed sooner and was on the right meds I might have saved my joints. Once the damage is done there is no revercing it other than surgery. I would highly recomend getting on the right meds as soon as you can. Do you have a rheumatoligist? If not do the best you can to get one, I know that it might be hard with out insurance but the alternative is more joint damage.                                        ......Randy.... ________________________________ From: sarah_70098 <sarah_70098@...> Sent: Fri, November 5, 2010 10:45:49 AM Subject: [ ] hey im new and am looking for advice  Hello everyone! I'm 24 and was diagnosed with RA a year and a half ago.. It all started with a stiff neck 3 yrs ago that still won't go away its just getting worse, costrochronditis which is finally gone and a swollen ring finger that went down with a cortisone shot. I've been put on predisone for a month which didn't help my neck then plaquenil for about a year anbd that didn't help. Then was on sulfasaline which didn't do anything either. They then thought maybe my neck is more of a fibromyalgia problem and gave me a few meds to try for that and they just gave me headaches and made me more tired. So currently I'm on no meds because I'm sick of all the side effects and getting frustrated because nothing is helping and the drs don't seem to care and just go here try this med. I heard maybe going gluten free might help.. I have been doing that for almost two wks but read it'll take a month before I notice anything. I'm just not sure what to do now.. I do not have good insurance and don't want things to keep getting worse but I do not like my current dr who took me a couple months to even find that accepted new patients.. Any advice?! Thanks! -
