Guest guest
Joanna, Today I feel OK...and can walk with a slight limp. My hand is deformed but otherwise I look fine. Other days, I can't get out of bed. Your sister is fortunate to have you. I joined this group and other arthritis ones because of several reasons: 1) My sister has RA 2) The doctors say I have arthritis (fortunately not that bad yet) and possibly dormant RA 3) I volunteer for the arthritis foundation and wanted to know more about what is going on. But the open support I see for each other touches me. My sister is often shunned becuase she looks healthy. She'll par in handicap spots and get glared at because she looks " fine " . But 30 minutes later and she is struggling to walk back to the car. I am going to tell her about this group because I think its the ideal support group she needs. Thanks Joanna
Guest guest
Welcome, Joanna and I hope your sister will also join and become a part of this awesome group. I pray your diagnosis of " possibly dormant RA " does not come to fruition. This disease is a horrible one with no cure and no guaranteed combo of meds that will work for all of us - its a crap-shoot until we each find our own individual combination of meds that will prayerfully throw us into remission. At this point in my life (without health insurance), I pray for pain freedom - which is rare - but I keep plugging away and never give up. There is an awesome website http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/ that addresses the " But You Don't Look Sick " part of this illness. Take special note of The Spoon Theory. Its been a mainstay for me and several others here. I look forward to hearing more from you and your sister. Again, welcome and have a blessed day.....
