Mousie,

You won't lose your hair but it will be thinner.  I can imagine how

embarrassing that would be.  I have very thin hair.  I'm on medications for

other health problems & it runs in my faimily too.  If you take Folic Acid that

will help somewhat.  I just feel great I'm been on Methotrexate and no flares or

sore joints.  Thank God for that!!!!!

Just keep track if you get sick how long it take you to recover and if you

get any side effects from the medication.  So the Dr can decide to keep you on

it or get off it.  I really want to get off mine.  I'm feeling fine but the

Reumy Dr said it take 12-18 months to get no flares and sore joints.  He also

said then I can get off it for like 3 or more years (depending on the flares up

again) and that what I'm hoping for.  So just keep an eyes on things that you

feel different or notice changes OK.  I'm sure it will work for you.

Christa & Barbara,

Thanks for your advice. I guess I will join the Thin Hair Club-hehe, and try to

do the best that I can with this treatment (MTX). I do hope you all have a safe

& healthy halloween.

Sue & Jeanne,

I like your mom have Diabetes, High Blood pressure & Gastrinal issues. That is

why I was hesitant on taking MTX. I have come to the conclusion that If we need

to live some sort of normal life we need these meds, so I will try anything to

survive. Hope your mom continues to feel better each day & is blessed to have a

daughter who knows & cares about her mom's illness.

Jeanne,

Thank you for your input also. This is the reason I love this wonderful group of

people. We can speak out & say what we feel with out fearing others won't

understand how we feel & what we are going thru.

Hi Jeanne:  I too have gastro issues, G.E.R.D. and take 2 Prilosec daily.  I

could not tolerate the MTX pills, so I switched to the injection form of MTX.

So much easier on your system, and just have a slight nausea on the night I

inject.

Hope you do well on your MTX.

Hugs,

Barbara
