Guest guest
Hi, Currently my copay is $20.00 per month and it is delivered by Caremark. I am wondering, what do you all do with your sharps containers? Mine is about half full right now. Heidi in Mass. _ In a message dated 12/8/2008 11:06:52 P.M. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, I've used the Sureclick for over a year now and I love it. I alternate thighs and have never bruised from it. I usually bruise easily. Do you think maybe he's pushing it too hard? I'm just grasping at straws to get an idea. All you have to do is find the place and press the purple top down. Make sure to let the alcohol dry completely before doing it so it doesn't burn. That's all I got. Hope it gets better for you both! Heidi in Mass. Hubby has been taking enbrel since 9/2 using free samples from his rheumy. My question is for those that use Enbrel, do you use the sureclick or the prefilled syringes? Hubby uses the sureclick and he gets a bruise where it is injected. Do you also get bruises? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, my name is Renae & I've been on Enbrel for a short time but I use the sureclick and have never had a problem. Last week I had a very minor blood spot. Never any bruising & I bruise very easily. A lot of people I know, however, do the syringes. I just don't think I could handle the syringe. Hope this helps/ Nae in TX [ ] Enbrel >I have been a member for a while but I don't post often. My hubby has >rheumatoid lung and pulmonary fibrosis caused by RA. Guest guest
I use the 25mg twice-weekly Enbrel that I have to mix myself. It doesn't contain preservatives, so it doesn't sting when going in. I get a bruise only when I hit a capillary. If blood comes out of the injection site, I will get a bruise. I try to pick a site with no blood vessels. I inject into my stomach. Guest guest
Hi crj129: I have been on Enbrel for 4 months now. I use the sureclick. I find it is most helpful to take it out of the fridge and let it warm up first, because if you inject it cold, you bruise, AND it burns going in. Plus, I ice my thigh 5 minutes before I use it (with the ice pack they send you), and then 5 minutes after. I havent had a problem. Once in a while you do bleed, but I find that its when I dont let it come to room temp that this happens, when the Enbrel is cold, its thick and viscous. Good Luck OKD
Guest guest
Hi ! I've been on just about ALL the drugs there are out there. For me, Rituxan was the key. It has put me into RA remission. Unfortunately, the current  aches & pains, etc that I have are related to OA and other forms of arthritis where the rituxan doesn't do anything for. Yes, as you stated, we are all different and these drugs (the good, the bad & THE UGLY) do each of us totally different. At least for what has worked on me, it's been since 2007 since my infusions and I have gone to 2 differrent doctors other than the doc that was treating during the rituxan infusion, and it's verified - I'm in remiision. No telling how long it will be but I'm greatful.  If anyone is reading this that has OA, what types of treatment can be given for that? I don't see my RA doc again until Feb and I'm just curious.  Good luck ! Oh, and giving yourself the injections is NOT bad - I had a fear of needles but I got over it really quick. Enbrel actually worked for me but I had a lot of bad side effects - unusual side effects = so honestly, I think it's a good drug - if you can take it, and I hope & pray it is the answer for you!!  in SC > Sue and a, > > Thank you for telling me about your experiences with enbrel. Guest guest
Hi , I know what you mean about the Enbrel shot hurting so bad. I gave myself the first shot on Christmas Day. I least I won't have any trouble remembering when I started on Enbrel. The shot hurt more than I expected it to. I was supposed to take the second shot on Friday morning, but I kept putting it off because I just didn't want to feel the pain. So I ended up doing it around 3:00 that evening. I did everything the same way except I used the opposite thigh about 5 inches from my knee. I didn't feel any pain at all. None whatsoever. I couldn't believe it at first. I thought maybe the needle didn't come out. Then I heard the click when it was through injecting. I checked the window on the side and it was purple. So I checked my leg and it wasn't bleeding any. There was a red dot where the needle went in. I was so happy that there wasn't any pain this time. I hope it's the same way next Friday. Maybe it will be better for you next week too. I truly hope so. I was sitting in a chair both times when I did the injections. I don't think I could actually stick the needle in my leg. When I got the prescription filled, the pharmacist made a mistake and gave me the prefilled syringes instead of the SureClick. I had talked to my Reumy about which one I wanted to use. He told me most of his patients use the SureClick. When I opened that box and saw those needles I knew I couldn't use those. I hope you feel better after reading all the comments from the group. Pam NC Hi all, My husband gave me my first shot of " Enbrel " today with the sureclick pen. My God!! That hurt worse than any shot I've ever had in my life!!!!! I even iced it first. Let the alcohol dry first. And man did it hurt! Sorry, I just had to vent about that. Also.. I was wondering if anyone could please tell me what caused StitchingQueens sad passing?? I'm so very sorry. Thanks, Michigan
Guest guest
Good for you, a! Enbrel must be the correct med for us. I am doing very well with my half dosage, and saving myself and my insurance company some money.
