Guest guest
Don, I didn't have a hard time at all weaning myself off of prednisone. I was on only 5 mg daily and had been on it for just a few months. The higher the dose and the longer you have been on it, the slower the weaning process needs to be, as I understand it. Here are two articles that should be helpful to you: http://arthritis.about.com/od/prednisone/f/withdrawaltaper.htm http://sarcinfo.com/weaning.htm Good luck! Guest guest
Hi, I also weaned off prednisone very, very slowly – like ½ mg every 10 days or so. I had suffered a spontaneous hip fracture at age 38 from the prednisone, and so I knew I had to get off of it. I remember being so scared to stop that last ½ mg, but I did. I have not had any since early 2007. So, I believe it is possible! Best wishes, Patty
