Guest guest
Hi Beth.  I know exactly how bad our feet can be with RA. That is where I was hit the hardest with this ugly beast of a disease. I had times when I could not bear to stand on them or walk on them.  I had foot surgery a few months ago to remove a large RA nodule which was very painful. I also found out with a nerve test that I have Neuropathy in both feet, which is another painful thing to deal with.  My Dr. ran a blood test for my feet, and I was low on B12. So, 3 weeks ago I started taking a B12 vitamin each day. All my Neuopathy pain has gone away. I really could not believe it. My feet for 7 years have been the bane of my existence. With all the pain and suffering, I was very unstable on my feet. As of today, my feet are pain free and I am so thankful that my foot Dr. knew about B12. I had never heard of it before. I can't tell you the joy I feel and the blessed relief to be out of all that horrid pain and suffering. The B12 pill I take desolves under your tongue, has no taste and melts within seconds.  I have also been in a RA  medicine induced remission for over a 1 1/2 years now. No flares or pain anywhere. My " cocktail " of meds. are working wonderfully for me. I am very thankful for all this, however long this lasts. My Rheumy treated my RA agressively since day one. She is so wonderful, smart, caring, and very loving. I can always reach her, and she calls me back within an hour of my call. She is just that kind of Dr. Whatever I need to feel better or for pain, she will write a RX for me. I rarely take pain meds. but I do have them on hand for whenever I might need one.  I hope you find something that helps for your painfull feet. No one can understand how awful that pain in your feet can be. It is unbearable at times. I hope your Rheumy can give you something to ease your pain, and find out what she can do for you.  Rest, and remember, there are better days ahead. I do the best I can for myself and have learned how to deal with RA on a daily basis.  Wishing you many pain free days ahead.  Hugs,  Barbara

I was diagnosed about a year and a half ago, one month before I was scheduled to travel to India to bring home a newly adopted 3 yr old! I hadn't started on any meds yet when I left, and I remember sitting on the plane about to take off across the ocean. My feet had been hurting horribly for weeks and all I could think was " oh my god what the heck am I doing? I'm flying to a completely strange country and bringing home a 3 yr old and I can hardly walk! " But everything turned out ok. I made it through India in one piece and came home and started on meds, and I've been chasing my now 4 yr old successfully for the past year. Thank goodness for the meds that are available today. It was strange to realize that I could feel every bone in my feet. Not something you think about normally. J
