Guest guest
I am so sorry you are having to go through all of this. It seems if it isn't one thing it is another. All we want to do is live a relatively normal life and it is so dificult. I was not aware you have to stop Arava if you need to get on antibiotics. Learn something new everyday i guess. Hope you start to feel better. I carry hand sanitizer around with me and use it frequently. It really helps and anytime we go into any store or public place, the first thing I do is make the entire family use the hand sanitizer when we leave, even before getting into the car. It is now a family ritual as we have been doing it for years now. Kids aren't sick as often. > > Bear with me as this is a whine we've all heard but it helps to give it a voice. > > WILL MY KIDS NEVER LEARN TO WASH THEIR HANDS?! I was told the Arava will squash what was left of my immune system and to be more careful about staying healthy. I wash & clean more than I ever have! I'm a faithful user of Chlorox wipes on my keyboards & stuff but I am still picking up the bugs the kids bring home from school! I have been on Arava with Orencia just long enough to experience what it felt like to move and be able to work again. Crap! Beans! Nuts! > > I caught an ear & sinus infection from my 15 yr old. Sinus rinsing is gross but I still do it. Even 3 times a day didn't help this! I finally went to my GP & she put me on antibiotics for 14 days which meant I had to stop the Arava. Now I'm coughing & nose-blowing from all the drainage, my ears are so full of fluid that everyone has to repeat themselves because I can't hear them and I hurt all over again! > > Since getting this stupid infection I got my first nodules on my finger joints. Jeez those little buggers are painful. Like I needed anything else happening? > > Today was one for the crapper, too. I was asked to attend a local indoor auction to buy a couple of specific items- kept me there till 2pm- and this morning I had to take 12 hogs to a neighboring town for us & 2 other families to get ear-tagged for this years 4H projects. Feeling like a bag of soggy lettuce with lumpy hands driving 12 miles one way in a truck I'm not used to while pulling a livestock trailer with 12 pigs who aren't smart enough to stand still wasn't quite what I had in mind for today. I wanted to grow roots into my favorite couch seat and slowly search the internet for genealogy links. > > Tomorrow I will run the check-in table (protection point) for the little kids at Church so at least I will get to sit and catch up on my sunday-school class reading. Also I told everyone in the house that I expect help in getting lunch on the table and that I WILL OWN the satellite remote after lunch. I'm not doing Jack Diddly Squat for anyone on Sunday. Period. > > I expect no replies as this is a situation we've all dealt with. Well, maybe not the hogs, but having infections, having to stop a medication that helps, having manure-ish painful days, being expected to do things for the family that totally wastes our " precious spoons " . I am almost halfway done with my antibiotics and I know it'll all get back to my new normal. It just makes me feel a little better to put all this in words. It is kinda like letting a nasty burp out so you feel better. >
Guest guest
Hi Dalanne: I know you are going through a lot right now, and I am glad you posted and vented today. Didn't it feel good to do that? I am sure many of us here know exactly how you are feeling. I do hope your infection clears up and you can return to all your much needed meds. I am happy you are going to take it easy today, and glad you are taking control of the remote! Horray for you. It is also good that you are asking your family to help with a meal prep. etc. They need to do more to help you. If you are like me, you just hate to ask. But ask you should. Your family needs to help you a lot, thus making things easier for you. These diseases take so much out of us every day. Since we moved to the new house, I haven't had to do much. And, it feels wonderful!! I take care of my bedroom, bathroom, and my laundry. They are so good to me, and I am loving it here. I never realized how much I really did every day, even though I paced myself. I am still on the couch most of the day, giving into my knee pain. I can't wait until Tues. morning to have my surgery, and get my new knee. I will be a new woman for sure. Please continue to feel better each day, and let your family really give you more help. They will feel good doing things for you, and you can rest more. You owe it to yourself to take good care of yourself. I pray you will be pain free soon. Hugs, Barbara > > Bear with me as this is a whine we've all heard but it helps to give it a voice. > > WILL MY KIDS NEVER LEARN TO WASH THEIR HANDS?! Guest guest
Dalanne, I feel your pain...I can't get back on remicaide since my nack for infections is higher then the average bear. I just hope you don't get the dreaded yeast infection from your course of antibiotics.(I get one EVERY time I am on any sort of antibiotics). Hope you feel better soon!! > > Bear with me as this is a whine we've all heard but it helps to give it a voice. > > WILL MY KIDS NEVER LEARN TO WASH THEIR HANDS?! Guest guest
Hi Dalanne - I know you didn't expect any replies, but I can't help myself. Your choice of words made me do it (snicker, snicker). In particular: " Feeling like a bag of soggy lettuce with lumpy hands driving 12 miles one way in a truck I'm not used to while pulling a livestock trailer with 12 pigs who aren't smart enough to stand still... " LOLOL - stupid pigs - I could visualize the trailer zig-zagging with pigs squealing the whole way - LOL " It is kinda like letting a nasty burp out so you feel better. " Ewww - quite the analogy - LMAO - do you feel better now? I pray you are on the tail end of all this URI stuff and will be back on your RA meds soon. Thanks for the giggle. I needed that today. Doreen Bear with me as this is a whine we've all heard but it helps to give it a voice. WILL MY KIDS NEVER LEARN TO WASH THEIR HANDS?!
