Guest guest
enbrel has a quick assist program that her doctor can help her get. They also offer financial assistance if you call the enliven line as well. [ ] Need help - Assistance with obtaining biologics ...for uninsured/underinsured. I found out today that a friend's sister has RA and went off her meds 2 years ago due to not having insurance. She was either on Humira or Enbrel but I am looking for information on any biologics that offer assistance. I would really like to help her out. Thanks! *~ Kami ~*
Guest guest
Hi Kami, I can only speak for Enbrel. Enbrel offers assistance. If she has no insurance, they run a quick 2 day " investigation " checking that there is not insurance so they can refer her to the Encourage Foundation. They will send her an application where she'll need to list her current finances, expenses, etc. Her rheumatologist will also have a piece to fill out and fax back. Once complete, the Foundation will determination how much her copay will be, from free to maybe 10.00 or whatever they determine. They work fast and are really very kind. I'm sure the others must offer some kind of programs as well. Heidi in Mass. Guest guest
as for not having med ins if she is not working and her doc can deam her unfit to work she can go to Social services and get put on med assistance, she will have to fill out special papers for the med assistance, but it would help her in the short term. While she either 1 gets employed or 2 gets SSI. [ ] Need help - Assistance with obtaining biologics ...for uninsured/underinsured. Guest guest
My Rheumy referred me to The HealthWell Foundation for whatever will be my first biologic whenever that happens. I filled out the forms they requested and heard later that I was awarded a 'fund' for my co-pays of $2600. Not too bad for that little bit of work. Guest guest
Hi Kami, Humira offers a patient support program for those with and without insurance: http://www.humira.com/Global/FinancialHelp/Default.aspx With my insurance and the patient assistance program, I only have a $5 copay for the Humira. I hope that your friend's sister is able to get into something and get the help she needs.
