Guest guest
Yippee, !! One Week Smoke Free. You've beat Hell Week. Now onto Heck Week - then Weak Week and Sneak Week - then you'll be one month smoke free. During the holiday, keep in mind how this first week has been for you. If you " slip " , everything starts all over again - withdrawals and everything. Just keep asking yourself " Do I really want to have to go through that all over again? " . You're doing awesome. Keep up the good work!!.....Doreen --- In , CATHERINE RANIOLO <c.raniolo@...> wrote: > > Congratulations...... > Tomorrow evening is one week for me. > I pray I can avoid exposure over the holiday... > > Raniolo > >
Guest guest
thank you. I will be visiting my son for the week end and requested he not allow friends to smoke near me. I am so scared I would take the cig right out of their mouth and INHALE... I feel adamant I do not want to smoke however I do not feel confident.... Guest guest
Good for you, Doreen! It sounds really impressive when you put it like this. I'm still thinking of the $40,000 that you said I had saved since I quit. Guest guest
, the nicotine should be just about gone from your body by now, so hopefully it will become easier. It did for me. Stay as far away as you can from any smokers you have to be around. You can do it! We're all rooting for you! Guest guest
Thanks Sue. I have personal resolve but that damn craving attacks from nowhere and is so strong.... Good news is the whiff I got entering WalMart today was actually objectionable. I walked as quickly as this body allowed. Is anyone familiar with an aversion site?? I think it is time to study the negative aspects of smoking so I can hold onto it when tempted. thank you for caring... Guest guest
, Try this..... http://community.becomeanex.org/ Doreen and I am both members. From my prior experience, it is a long battle. When I quit for 8mos. I never stopped having the cravings. Guest guest
Sue, Thanks! It is an all day battle. The worse times are when I am stuck in traffic. Driving is hard but sitting in traffic is the worse for me. I keep the suckers handy. Shirley > > > > From my prior experience, it is a long battle. Guest guest
Congratulation for 1 week and of course congratulations to Clora and Shirley as well and anyone else that is doing the GREAT AMERICAN SMOKEOUT!! I quit February 22, 2002 after smoking for 28 years so yes, it can be done by anyone who wants to quit for themselves but no one said it would be easy. , I am surprised that your son still allows smoking in his home. I have friends that are actual smokers themselves, but have quit smoking in their own homes and don't allow any smoking by anyone else. Each day each of you can go smoke free makes the next day easier, believe me. Yes, you'll still have cravings, but they won't last as long and they won't be as frequent. I guess the analogy is like grief, you may always feel the pain but it doesn't come as often and it doesn't last as long as time goes by. I am praying for all of you, YOU CAN DO IT!!! (Isn't this the year for change? Yes, I can!!) Colleen
Guest guest
Hi - it does stink, doesn't it? It amazes me that I smelled like that just about 2½ year ago. Pretty gross. As for an aversion site, the best one I know of is www.whyquit.com . They have a LOT of information and some pretty graphic results from what cigarette smoking can do to our bodies. Hope this helps. The group I belonged to referred to those craving attacks as the nicodemon tempting and taunting you. The craves do come out of nowhere at times. That is the addiction part of this whole thing. If you can fight it off, you'll do good. Hang in there.....Doreen --- In , CATHERINE RANIOLO <c.raniolo@...> wrote: > > Thanks Sue. Guest guest
Raniolo and group; Haaaaaaaaaaaa. I invisioned this lady walking over to a stranger at the Thankgiving dinner and taking her cigarette away from her shocked face and start smoking it. I hope everyone knows you quit and hide from you especially when they do smoke. I know what you feel like. All of us that tried to quit would understand if you did. but hon try not to do that haaaaa. (sorry everyone a day late answering) Clora. > > thank you. > > I will be visiting my son for the week end and requested he not allow friends to smoke near me.
