Guest guest
Hi Tawny.... I just want to say that I'm very sorry that You are in such severe pain. From: tdianaok <tdianaok@...> Subject: [ ] Help, too much pain:( Date: Sunday, May 31, 2009, 3:05 AM Hi friends, I finally went Friday, had my lab work done at my GP doctor. I know, it took a long time. I'm still feeling dizzy and disoriented. I have another problem, that is causing me a great deal of pain, so hope someone can help. I've been on Neurontin for a few years now, my neurologist prescribed the med for neuropathy pain for my left leg. I've had numbness, tingling, pins and needle feeling. I will say, after awhile the med has helped me quite a bit. I still have the pain and numbness in the leg,but its been tolerable. A few months ago, I fell, and a little while later, my right hip started hurting me. The last few weeks, if I stand for just a few minutes, my hip will start hurting. Also, I will have pain go down my butt cheek, and have some pain in my right leg. It will stop when I sit. The last few days, my left leg has been in severe pain, along with the numbness. I also have numbness in my foot and toes. This morning when I woke up in horrible pain, and then it kind of felt like a charley horse, or something, my left toe bent, and I couldn't move it. My hubby had to move my leg and toe. I just don't know what's going on. The doc's office will call with the lab work, Monday or Tuesday, and they make an appointment. I'm going to call my RA doc. I have an appointment in like two weeks at the RA doc, but I cannot wait. I'm in severe pain, and meds don't help the leg pain. Does anyone have this type of problem? I am at my last end right now. Thanks so much, Tawny

Guest guest
Hi Tawny- I hope today finds more relief for you. Could your fall have cause some back problems? I have 3 herniated discs that cause hip and leg pains that sound like your stuff. My pain Dr. does some injections that provide me relief for a couple of months. Lyrica also helps a little bit. I sleep sitting up in a recliner- laying down presses on the hot spots. Hang in there friend! Just keep on pushing the Dr.'s to help! - D. in very hot south Louisiana! > > Hi friends, > > I finally went Friday, had my lab work done at my GP doctor. I know, it took a long time. Guest guest
Tawny, I have pain that goes down my butt cheek and then down my leg. It is coming from my spine. My pain has not been as severe as yours, though, and did not come after a fall. I hope you can soon find a solution to the problem. Guest guest
I had exactly what you describe when I herniated a disk in my lower back, the pain shot down my leg and I had serious mobility problems with it until I got into physical therapy. The best thing you can do right now is get an ice pack on your lower back and try to get the swelling down, that's what's causing the pain down your leg, for me, it was like magic, no more than twenty minutes at a time. Chas just got back from visiting her boyfriend at the Christian camp he works at and I just got in from church. we still have a wedding shower (chas' best friend, she's her moh) and our great nieces'b-day party yet to go! I had a peach and some beef jerky for lunch, lol. i am praying for you RIGHT NOW that God will give you comfort and a respite from the pain. I had a compression fracture of a vertebra and was in a hard back brace, steroid injections, etc. for a year or so so i can imagine how bad you are hurting. Guest guest
Hi , I hope your day is going well, and your pain level is in control. The fall may have caused a problem. I have all kinds of problems. I have 2 herniated disc in my spine and 3 in my cervical spine. I've lived with the degenerative disc disease for a long time now. In 04, I started getting this pain in my left leg, and that is when the doc put me on Neurontin. It has helped some, tolerable. The fall, may have started all this, and I am suppose to have x-rays and a bone density test like June 16th at my RA doc, but they need to get me in a LOT sooner. I will call my primary doctor also. I am pre-diabetes, cholesterol problems, etc. They are doing lab work for all this, so at least we can figure out what it can be. I am a little worried, I've been having short of breath and I had a light heart palpation last night. I've got a lot going on, I've just kind of erased that part of my life, and went on with my fight with RA. I know there is a bigger fight waiting in the wings for me. Its just so hard to deal with so much, its like when is it enough. Thanks for your support. Its so nice to have people too understand, just what we go through each day. You take care of yourself, and try to relax today. Hugs, Tawny > > Hi Tawny- I hope today finds more relief for you. Could your fall have cause some back problems? Guest guest
Sue, Have you been found out the reason why? I'm sorry, I know how painful it is. The right hip, with the pain going down the butt cheek, leg, could be from the fall. It started like two weeks probably, after the fall. It didn't hurt all the time either. But now its constant, when I stand for anytime. The other pain in my left leg, not so sure about that. There can be so many problems, that's causing the pain. I will keep you posted on the situation. Thanks so much for your caring support. Your such a good friend to me. Take care, Tawny > > Tawny, > > I have pain that goes down my butt cheek and then down my leg. It is > coming from my spine. I will try a ice pack though, and hope the doc can figure it out. It does cause mobility problems for sure. I can't stand for long, and I am the type of person, I push myself. Guest guest
Tawny, My ex-rays showed that I have some degenerative disease and also spondylolisthesis. This is when a vertebra has slipped out of alignment, and I guess it presses on a nerve. I went to an orthopedic surgeon a few months back, and he sent me for an MRI. I'm afraid I haven't been back to him to find out the results or his recommended treatment. I have so many doctors that I have to go to, I try to spread them out. It was also not bothering me as much as it was when I went to him. Maybe I'm hoping it will go away, LOL. My pain is worse when I'm standing, too. Walking doesn't bother it quite as much as just standing still. On my last two trips, it really bothered me, I guess because I was doing more standing in line and walking around than usual. I also was not getting my usual amount of sleep and rest. I know that it's not going to go away by itself, and I need to go back to the doctor. But right now I'm having a fit with pain in my left eye. I have Fuchs' corneal dystrophy, on the innermost layer of the cornea, and map-dot dystrophy on the outermost layer. I've been having corneal erosions in that eye from the map-dot, and it's very painful. I went to the cornea specialist Friday, but what he did has not solved the problem yet. So that's what I need to deal with at present. When they get ex-rays of your spine or an MRI, hopefully they'll be able to pinpoint the problem. Hopefully, they will offer a solution. Do keep us posted. I hope you don't have to continue to suffer so much pain. I treasure your friendship, too. You are one of our chief cheerleaders, even when you're in pain yourself. Guest guest
Hey Sue, I'm like you Sue, just too many doctors. I want to just run and hide somewhere. My appointment at the primary doc was in March. I've put it off, and I will get in trouble about it. My doctor, tries to rip me a new *##!LOL I did read a little on spondylolistesis on the PC today. It sounds very painful. You do need to get in there, and please keep me posted. I have less pain with the hip, butt, and leg pain when walking. But standing, I could climb a wall from the pain. You are also going through a lot to, its just a struggle isn't it? If it was up to the docs, I would be in there the entire year. I'm trying to stay home with the swine flu on the loose. When I did my lab work, the whole staff was coughing and sneezing. The lab tech sneezed, while doing my lab work, nice huh? Yes, you need to take care of that eye. I hope the doc can get you some help and relief. You take care, and know I will be cheering for you.
