Guest guest
> I took valerian root capsules last night and noticed an immediate improvement in my face this morning. My face doesnt feel as stiff and is not hurting as it was. I am going to continue using it but has anyone heard of using valerian for ms? Does anyone know of any other supplement that helps the muscles in the face? Am I the only one in this group with issues with facial droop? > Yep, I use valerian in my herbal tea sometimes, especially if I'm having trouble sleeping. As I was just telling someone else, I also use lobelia in my tea when necessary but you have to be careful with it. Shouldn't be taken more than a week at a time and only 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon (if loose herb in a tea) at a time. I've taken it plenty of times without a reaction, but one time I had too much. Got the sweating, nausea, rapid heartbeat, etc. It hit before I even finished the tea and I knew right away what is was. Not fun! Guest guest
You might be able to find valerian root in a commercial tea like Traditional Medicinals. Look for something that's supposed to help with sleep. I just buy the loose herb at my natural food store and mix it into my other herbs for tea whenever I need it. HTH! Guest guest
Crystal- It made me smile not that you threw up but what they say is true. Lobelia Purge when you get enough lobelia you will throw up, that is where you never have to worry about overdosing any safe herb one throwing-up is the worse case scenario. Lobelia just like any herb has a myraid of reason why it works and what it will work for. Lobelia is a herb known for the lungs and when someone has an issue with the lungs, such as asthma they do a lobelia-purge and what that means is drink enough to make you throw-up and it force the gunk to release from the lungs covering the bronchial pathways so the person is free to breath. So what your saying about your experience with Lobelia, is what is said. I personally have not had someone with severe enough asthma cross my path yet. I use lobelia all the time when needed it is powerful, when my son use to have seizures I would put a dropperful in his mouth and the seizure would end immediately. Easy way to remember about lobelia anytime someone needs to be brought down or calmed down. The Native Indians smoked lobelia and called it there wacky-tabaky. Also for sleeping try taking your shoes and step on the earths natural ground, it works! What it does it puts the earths natural electricity back in your body that gets cut-off from our rubber soled shoes. Have a Happy and Healthy Day, Kopera M.H. © Copyright 2007 www.sCorner.com . It's also supposed to be anti-inflammatory, which is one of the reasons it works for asthma and bronchitis. Guess that's why it works for MS flares too. Is there an inflammatory process involved with seizures? That's really interesting that it worked for that! > Also for sleeping try taking your shoes and step on the earths natural ground, it works! We got 4 1/2 feet of snow in a week last month and I don't see it melting off anytime soon! lol Crystal

Lobelia and Cayenne are two powerful herbs and the easy way to remeber the difference if someone needs to be brought up use cayenne, if someone needs to be brought down use lobelia. With Epilepsy for my son it was never mention inflamation but it could of been. He was hit right between the eyes with a baseball and the seizures started a couple of weeks following. Then couple of years later I figured out he was severally lacking in protein since that time he now has been seizure free. Plus cant forget the genes in this case too that he inherited from his lovely Mom, a weak nervous system. > Also for sleeping try taking your shoes and step on the earths natural ground, it works! I can remember the first time I read that and it sounded soooo silly and there was several feet of snow at that time, too! But now if I was suffering from insomnia I would shovel the snow out of the way. I forgot another thing that is really slick if you juice celery , the constituents from celery help you sleep. That works super, too! Crystal
Guest guest
You can get valerian at a health food store or online. I use Swanson Vitamins and Vitacost. It comes in tea or capsules. The tea can be kind of, um, " smelly. " If you suffer from depression, you shouldn't take Valerian long-term, as it might then make the depression worse. Short-term is OK. Beverly > > > I know the detoxmax helped me with pulling me out of an exacerbation. After taking it my speech is no longer slurred, my balance is back and I am able to walk with no assistance and the facial droop was dramatically improved (about 85 percent improved). In fact the facial droop isnt that bad but it is still there, not completely resolved. People tell me it is barely noticeable until I mention it but I notice it and it really bothers me and makes me feel self conscious. > > I took valerian root capsules last night and noticed an immediate improvement in my face this morning.
