I may have some stuff on Synanon. There is a definite 12step connection. I

think they were a sort of up-front fascist version of stepism -- dispensing

with the warm surfaces of " caring and sharing " and having a more overtly

authoritarian/hierarchical structure. But they came from the same place --

Oxford Group via early days of AA. There is stuff on the net about them

which is easy enough to find. They are regraded as a sinister mob and

possibly constitute the elite of global stepNazism Inc.

I always remember Bob Dylan's lines, " Lenny Bruce is gone/Never made it to

Synanon . . . Lenny Bruce was bad/He was the brother you never had " ,
