Guest guest
Pam, Don't worry until you have to. It could be a mix-up of some kind. Also, the TB skin test cannot give you TB or cause problems if you have TB. I hope you'll talk to someone at your physician's office tomorrow and that you are OK. He told me I still needed to go to my family doctor or the Health Department to get the TB test done and fax him the results so I wouldn't have to make the 45 minute drive back to his office. Have any of you had a abnormal chest x-ray? What could it mean? I 've been worrying about it all weekend. I used to smoke sometimes when I would get stressed out, but I don't have any breathing problems. I haven't got the TB test done yet because I was worried about getting the h1n1 virus and also about my insurance being cancelled because the Enbrel is so expensive. If the chest x-ray is abnormal it's a good thing I didn't get the TB test done right away, I'm not sure what problems it would have caused. Thanks for any advice you can give me. > > Pam
Guest guest
Hi Pam, I'm sorry you got such a scare over the chest x ray. I have had an abnormal chest film (last year) and it turned out to be nothing. They went on to do a chest CT which was very unpleasant and it just turned out I had scaring from old pneumonias. There are many reasons to have abnormal findings on chest films, most of them having to do with anatomical differences or past infections. Radiologists are just very detail oriented and want the treating docs to rule out any more serious, much more rare causes of problems. Please keep us posted, Kate F ________________________________ From: Pamela Hunt <pamhunt56@...> Sent: Sun, November 1, 2009 8:20:12 PM Subject: [ ] Abnormal chest x-ray I had a appointment with my Rheumy about two weeks ago.
