Guest guest
I had a appointment with my Rheumy about two weeks ago. My Rheumy is Russian and sometimes I can't understand what he says so I see his PA instead. He had a chest x-ray done because he wanted me to start using Enbrel. He had some x-rays done on my feet in April and he said that the RA was progressing in my feet. He had hoped by increasing the Methotrexate that it would slow it down but it didn't. I already have a overlapping toe and some of my toes are going up and rubbing the top of my shoes. After he did the chest x-ray I asked my Rheumy if the x-ray turned out alright and he said that it looked fine. He wrote me a prescription for Enbrel and gave me a co-pay assistance card. He told me I still needed to go to my family doctor or the Health Department to get the TB test done and fax him the results so I wouldn't have to make the 45 minute drive back to his office. Friday I got a letter in the mail for me to call them because the chest x-ray was abnormal. I don't understand how it could be abnormal when he told me it looked fine. Have any of you had a abnormal chest x-ray? What could it mean? I 've been worrying about it all weekend. I used to smoke sometimes when I would get stressed out, but I don't have any breathing problems. I haven't got the TB test done yet because I was worried about getting the h1n1 virus and also about my insurance being cancelled because the Enbrel is so expensive. If the chest x-ray is abnormal it's a good thing I didn't get the TB test done right away, I'm not sure what problems it would have caused. Thanks for any advice you can give me.
