Guest guest
I am really surprised there has been no discussion about this She started treating herself with supplementsluding GABA) that reduced oxidative stress and started taking 9 cups a day of sulpher foods - kale, cabbage, broccoli, etc. She started using a NMES 300PT machine - sort of like an advanced tens machine. You can only get it through a Doctor's okay. She then moved ip to a more powerful machine. I am going top research this, including writiong to her colleague for verification - that's how imortant I think this is. Will let you know what I find out....Lydia

Guest guest
This person's diet and supplement protocol are nearly identical to the DAN (Defeat Autism Now) protocol. Both are thought (in the more progressive medical world) to be caused by toxin (mercury, et al) exposure leading to low glutathione levels. I cringe to think that my amalgam fillings caused my issues and my son's -- but it sure looks like it.... -
Guest guest
I wrote to Terry Wahls and asked her what equipment she is using: Her is her response. Also below is the link to her story again, for those who haven't taken a look. It's quite miraculous--from secondary progressive and in a wheelchair to walking unaided and riding a bicycle 18 miles. I also checked to see if she is a real MD, and it appears from other sites that she is. Her response about the equipment: you could work with a physical therapist who has expertise in neuromuscular electrical stimulation (usually athletes) electrotherapy device which I use is EMPI 300 > > http://terrywahls.com/index.php?page_id=1 > > >
Guest guest
Is GABA something that one needs a prescription for? Anyone know? I can't find it for sale on line. > > I am really surprised there has been no discussion about this She > started treating herself with supplementsluding GABA) that reduced > oxidative stress and started taking 9 cups a day of sulpher foods - > kale, cabbage, broccoli, etc. She started using a NMES 300PT machine -

I > can't find it for sale on line. > Hi , GABA does not need prescription, here is a site that I have bought from couple times for skin care, they have capsules and powder form too. I usually vote for the powder form as that is pure and has no fillers in it. http://www.bulknutrition.com/advanced_search_result.php?osCsid=7dsbs86sqolvm37ko\ iqs1fiqh4 & keywords=GABA & x=0 & y=0 Not sure if the link will come out right, but if not, google BulkNutrition and when the site comes up do a search on GABA. It seems that Beyond A Century has GABA too in powder form. Good luck! Edith
Guest guest
More info! Terry Wahls recovered from progressive MS. http://www.terrywahls.com http://www.int-med.uiowa.edu/Media/Wahls10-6-08/Wahls10-6-08.html Terry Wahls, M.D. is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Iowa. She has stated she was on the BBD but was still progressing. She said she is the first person to try this so she does not know how it will affect other people. She is trying to put together a study. She suggests whole food supplements like Kyo-Green. She cautions on over reliance on supplements because there are so many more micronutrients in food that are not yet identified. She started out on NMES 300PT (http://www.empi.com) You need a prescription to buy the equipment. It is $750 but they have a payment plan. $76.08 for the first two months, and then $57.06 a month. It is more expensive than Tone-amatic but they include supplies. She moved up to Tdr68 tone-amatic. (http://www.toneamatic.com/productDetail3.asp?category=TDR+% 28RUSSIAN+STIM%29+SERIES & productName=TDR+68+%2D+24+pads%2816%2B8% 29+PRO%2DDIGITAL+RUSSIAN+STIM) She says both are good but Tone-amatic provides Russian Procedure. It is almost $700 but I haven't spoken to them about any payment plan. She says it can be very painful and the results take a while. Ezine article: http://ezinearticles.com/?expert_bio=Terry_Wahls Wellness.com profile: http://www.wellness.com/profile.asp? catid=30 & Proid=2154268 I have ordered her CD, " Up From the Chair " and will give feedback on it. Guest guest
Is the equiqment something someone can use by themselves, or does one need a physical therapist or another person to help them use it? Anyone know? Lydia, I would definitely appreciate the feedback on her CD. > > She started out on NMES 300PT (http://www.empi.com) You need a > prescription to buy the equipment. Guest guest
She is a real MD, my husband used to work with her in Iowa. I am happy to hear that she is apparently doing so well. I cannot wait to tell him that she is doing better, he will be so happy too. I wrote to Terry Wahls and asked her what equipment she is using: Her is her response. Guest guest
That is interesting. Does anyone have a list of the DAN supplements that are recommended--I'd like to compare them to Dr. Wahls's list. She says she based her protocol on the study of neurological disorders. > > This person's diet and supplement protocol are nearly identical to the > DAN (Defeat Autism Now) protocol. Guest guest
You can call Kirkman's Vitamins and ask for their Beginner's Guide. It has a lot of the vitamins that are in the DAN (Defeat Autism Now) Protocol and explains when to use which vitamins. It's a free pamphet. I have used Kirkman vitamin's for my very fragile son (ASD) and my daughter. The number is and website _www.kirkmangroup.com_ (http://www.kirkmangroup.com) . If you have specific questions about specific vitamins/supplements their customer service is very good. I do believe in nutritional and vitamin therapy works because it helps the whole body heal.
