Guest guest
Dennis, I haven't made it through the day yet, but my daughter and I are both on board. I had a wonderful brunch this morning with from our group to kick start the day. It sure was a pleasure meeting her. Guest guest
Shirley, I'm sending you some angels, too, to help you quit smoking. We are all pulling for you and Clora to be successful this time. Good luck! You can do it! Just show Mr. Nicotine who's boss! Guest guest
Sue, Thank you, thank you! I am still waiting for my granddaughter to notice that neither her mother or I have been smoking. Not yet, she is 14 and just too busy, unless it is complaining about something else. I try to make sure that she never runs out of gripes. I would hate for her world to come to a screaching halt! Guest guest
Dennis, Even though my granddaughter is only 14, you are right, she smelled like a smoker. The first thing she would do in the mornings was come out of her room and start spraying the hallway with air freshener. We only smoked in our bedrooms but I know the hallway was bad also. Last night she saw me with a straw in my mouth and asked me what I was doing. I told her trying not to smoke, she gave me a high five. Then she was off to do her thing. I have noticed she is not spraying the hall anymore. I am still waiting to hear more from her but I want her to initiate it. Good luck today, to everyone else on this path to freedom. All none smokers, have a great day too. Shirley > > > > > > What they said, Clora! > > > What about each one stopping smoking posting their progress? Guest guest
Shirley, I am SO PROUD of you!! Sounds like you are making wonderful progress. May I suggest that when the craves get too bad, perhaps you could do some ex-smoker's cleaning - things that would not normally get done - you'd be surprised at where the smoke can hide (comforters, curtains, walls). Even though you only smoked in your room, the A/C unit would still drag some of it throughout the whole house. Maybe put new filters in - I like to put a Renuzit Solid air freshener (crisp linen) behind the filter - makes the whole house smell good. I'm sure your grand-daughter would be more than willing to give you a hand with the heavier cleaning - especially if you tell her it will help with the craves and keep you smoke free. We were at our middle son's house yesterday and they both smoke. Man-oh-man was I ever glad to get home and get out of my smelly clothes! It still amazes me 2½ years later how I could have gone around smelling like that and not even realize it. Gross!! Keep up the good work, ladies. Shirley, , Clora. YOU CAN DO THIS!!...................Doreen > > Dennis, > Even though my granddaughter is only 14, you are right, she smelled > like a smoker. Guest guest
Doreen, One thing I have learned, don't spend much time one the computer. I can only get on and do a few things, then I have to leave it. Sitting and not smoking is no fun! It's cleaner, smells better, I can use two hands, but it's too tempting. Thanks for the great support. If you don't hear from me much, this is why. Shirley > > Shirley, I am SO PROUD of you!! Sounds like you are making wonderful > progress. Guest guest
That's an important part in the success of quitting smoking. You must change your other habits, too, or you'll end up in the same rut again. You're thinking right, Shirley, Stay the course.
