Guest guest
Hi, . Last spring after having a couple of serious infections while on Enbrel, I began studying options. I chose to seek out a doctor who uses antibiotic protocol. She ran a ton of labs, one of those being for Celiac. I did test positive, but she says that a lot of people have the symptoms who do not test positive, & need to be gluten free. So, last April, I became gluten free and tossed the Enbrel Prednisone, & MTX. I am using antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory. This is the best thing I have ever done for my health. I can't say I'm in remission, but I feel really good for the first time in years, & I have lost 25 pounds. Gluten free is not hard for me, because I believe it has helped me dramatically. There are issues in eating out, but you learn quickly what to avoid. If you want more info,e-mail me, & I'll send you some links. Good luck in seeking out whatever helps you on this journey. I work with a nurse who is a gluten-meister and she was telling me that people with RA and Hashi's should also be on the lookout for celiac disease. A few years ago I had one of my Ig antibodies drawn for celiac, and it was negative, but I've been feeling crummy lately: migraines, GI distress, no energy, I wonder if she might be on to something. I'm also a sugar/simple carb addict, so if I could muster the dedication, I bet gluten-free might help my PCOS too. Any advice?
Guest guest
hey! I have just recently started a gluten free diet. I started this on my own after researching it extensively. I am still confused about some things that have gluten in them but I am reading, reading, reading! lol ! Some info out there states that RA can be caused by gluten intolerance/allergy/sensitivity. If you google gluten and RA there are many things to read. Its like an immune response. Ive had IBS for years and now I'm wondering if it could be from gluten intolerance. I did the Atkins diet in the past and felt much better ...which is basically eliminating the breads, pastas, etc. Time will tell...but I already have less fatigue and more mental clarity. Keep us posted ! > > Has anyone been helped by a gluten free diet?
