Guest guest
Hi KD, Being new to this too I'm finding I am having to adjust the way I did somethings as well. I currently have a car with a standard transmission and it is killing my hips and knees. Hubby has to drive most of the time. I'm currently looking for a different car with automatic transmission so I can drive during flares. I did borrow a truck (automatic) so I could try to do a few things on my own but found that just " running around " do do the usual errands for more that 1/2 hr. caused problems in hands, wrists, hips & knees. I am exhausted by the time I get home. I made one major trip since diagnosis and that wasn't too bad. The day to day traveling is worse. It does get frustrating sometimes, but I know it will eventually pass. Try to make sure that you don't miss a dose of your meds. I normally use Ibuprofen for pain as I can take 600 mg every 4-6 hrs as I need it. I'm hearing that steroids help considerably but of course there are a few minimal side effects with that. Hope your Thanksgiving trip is pain free! Betsy
