I have been on a biological like embryl - is called Cymzia and a day after

my injection I get terrible joint pains and I feel like I am getting the flu

as well....my energy level is shot and my joins are hurting very badly. I

also have no energy. I hope the joint pain will get better after I am on

this med longer. I wonder if anyone in the group has been on any of these

two meds longer than a months - did they have our same symptoms and did it

get better???

Thanks Vivian

[ ] Pain After Enbrel Injection

Hey guys - I just started taking Enbrel about a month ago and for about a

day after the injection, my joints hurt pretty badly, especially at first

and I feel like I have a bad cold or flu afterwards. Is this normal?

Thanks guys - Ginny Angell

I used Cimzia for about a year and didn't experience these side effects.  Have

you spoke to your Rheumy about this and how long have you been taking these

injections?

I've been on Enbrel for 7 years. It doesn't affect me that way, and it

didn't in the beginning. But then of course, we are all different in

our reactions to meds.

I hope that both of you, Ginny and Vivian, soon have better results.

Maybe your body has to adapt to the meds for a while.

Good luck!

Hello Vivian, I've been on both Enbrel and am now on Cimzia. I, too, get the

joint pain (what I refer to as a mini flare) and feel awful for the first couple

of days. The discomfort usually subsides by the third day, though. However, I

am also experiencing other symptoms on the Cimzia which I think will lead to my

stopping this med. I've been on it now for 7 months. It does work, but for the

side effects. Enbrel was the best for me. Had to stop due to recurring

infections. Was on it for almost a year. I certainly hope that you find

something that works for you. Don't give up hope! Best, Lenae
