Guest guest
Hi ...I loved wearing heels...those days are over for me. I think I stopped back in 1990...I was dxd with r/a in 1983. My feet are too sore in heels. I now wear New Balance tennies or Cobbie Cuddlers or Propet tennies. Heels are just too painful to wear...its not that I was scared but its hard just putting them on. Guest guest
No heels, nothing but my Reebok running shoes. Too much pain to get heels on and too much pain to try to walk in them. They are part of my other life before RA.\  Hugs,  Barbara From: Yokom <sayokom@...> Subject: [ ] Question for the ladies.. Guest guest
I agree with the other comments. It's hard to wear heels for any amount of time. I have had luck with shoes with square or rounded toes and a good, thick heel. Thin heels are murder. I also find the reviews on www.zappos.com to be helpful as often people will note if a given shoe helped or aggravated their foot pain. Don't forget wedges which can give you the look of a heel, but distribute the weight of your body better. I bet you could find some cute wedge heel boots on zappos. Guest guest
I haven't worn high heels in years, even before the RA struck. They are just not sensible or comfortable, and I can't walk in them. I'm sure they're not good for your feet. But if you can wear them and still walk and be comfortable in them, more power to you. Guest guest
I've found that the Foot Smart catalog and website have some great solutions for comfortable shoes. They specialize in footware for people with foot problems. Marsha
Guest guest
I can wear wedge heels, but not skinny. and that's if i'm having a very very GOOD day. and they can't be very high wedges. and they come off and go under the table as soon as i get from point a to point b. I used to wear spike heels all the time in my younger days, and i miss them. sigh. > > Do you still wear hi-heels or have those become a nuisance? > > I am wanting to wear my heeled boots again but I haven't worn heels since I > was diagnosed...been too scared. > > What are your thoughts? > > > /Colorado > > >
Guest guest
I have not been able to wear my heels since 2006. I love shoes and I had to give them all away. Now I wear comfortable shoes and tennis shoes. I cannot wear flats because the hurt just as bad as the heels. Try looking at a shoe brand that is called soft spots they have very comfortable shoes that do not look bad. Vivian [ ] Question for the ladies.. Guest guest
I think that Soft Spots are really comfortable, too. I do have some that look like old lady shoes, but that's okay since I'm an old lady, LOL. I actually don't like to wear tennis shoes, running shoes, and the like. They feel too heavy and are not comfortable to me. I have some really comfortable Easy Spirit lace-up shoes, and they look good. Guest guest
A few weeks back I bought some propet brand walking shoes that are extremely comfortable. They are styled like Janes and are black so they look good with slacks but have the comfort and support of a walking shoe. I have worn them for short hikes and shopping and found them extremely comfortable. Tonight I wore them to a dinner with a dressy pant suit and they looked good too. I have a wide foot and they come in wide widths which can sometimes be hard to find. I do not find tennis shoes comfortable (I have bought several different name brands) as my feet burn and sting when wearing them. Also bought a pair of white propet slip on walking shoes and have not had the burning problem with them and find them very comfortable. Last time I did heels was about 18 months ago for my daughters wedding and then they were very low heels and I said not again-feet hurt for days afterward. linda > I have not been able to wear my heels since 2006. Guest guest
I haven't been able to wear heels since the day I was slammed with this. I tried a small wedge once but that was a huge mistake. Nothing but flats and tennis shoes for me.
