Guest guest
The Life Extension Foundation which is Durk Pearsons site has a lot of information about anti-inflammatories. They also had a large article in a past issue of their magazine which was devoted to the problem of inflammation and how it seems to be related to almost all of the degenerative diseases. They have a large archives which allows one to go back and read past articles. Recently Oprah had Dr. Perricone, who is a dermatologist, on her program. His latest book is about his diet which reduces inflammation. He had several women on his program which illustrated the reduction of inflammation and the improvement in ttheir appearance. He was however very interested in the cancer problem and stated that he never saw a precancerous lesion which did not have inflammation associated with it. The message I got from it was lets better our health by reducing the inflammation in the body and what is the best way to accomplish this, show that by reducing the inflammation in the face you can look younger. In other words appeal to the youth craze to accomplish your real mission. I hope this information is of some help, sincerely cherie
Guest guest
More than 50 years ago, and now I am dating myself, I learned that 'Inflammation' is the biggee. However I also learned it is just another symptom. What I learned from the likes of Herbert M. Shelton, one of the early Naturopaths and expert on fasting, was that all of the fancy-named diseases such as Arthritis, Bursitis, and any other 'itis' was simply the same thing.........inflammation of a particular part of the body therefore named................arthritis, etc. So what to do about avoiding it? Live perfectly and then hope the environment doesn't get you first? It takes more than that. Joe
Guest guest
For pain/inflammation, I was given 200 mg Celebrex which I can take twice a day, as needed. Guest guest
Since I had an ulcer from Aleve, I steer clear of all of the NSAID's. I take arthritis-strength Tylenol. I do have some Tramadol that I take occasionally for the pain originating in my lumbar spine, not caused by RA. Guest guest
From what I understand, it's what your body thinks is the best, LOL! My doctor told me that everyone responds to the meds differently, so what works for somebody, won't work as well for another. That being said, the only one I was ever able to tolerate was Lodine. I have a very sensitive stomach, and everything else was just too harsh. For me, everything else included Voltaren, Mobic, Tolectin, Relafin, Naproxin, Daypro and Celebrex.
