Guest guest
Hi , Please be assured that you can get better. I was diagnosed in May/June of this year. I was scared at first too and had trouble sleeping for weeks with worry. But I bought some books that changed everything. If you go to amazon you can find books about healing MS with diet and lifestyle changes. It works. There is also the best bet diet website for healing MS. Please don't use the drugs that the doctors want to prescribe. They don't work as far as I can tell. Do you have any history in your family of gluten intolerance, allergies, other food intolerance? Are you having bowl issues? You can heal by avoiding common food that cause/contribute to allergic and autoimmune issues. Try to look at the following books: " Healing MS " " The Multiple Sclerosis Diet Book " " The MS Recovery Diet " Good luck. Most of all know that negative emotion and stress will make things worse. If you get online and start reading some of the testimonials of people who have gotten over their symptoms you will feel better and more confident that you can beat it. Guest guest
, my thoughts are with you. I was just diagnosed a few weeks ago altho apparently I've had MS for 30 years. I'm as lost as you are. My dr who is an internist, not a neuro (we don't have any around here) didn't prescribe anything, nor did he tell me which form I have. All he said was I've had it for too long, the side effects of the meds are bad and they take too long to work. I left that office feeling so confused and depressed. I hope someone with more knowledge can give you some help. Guest guest
Welcome ,Look through the files here where you'll find loads of advice. Start the Best Bet Diet (at least cut out gluten and dairy) and their recommended supplements. Exercise. Relax. Stay away from prescription medicines - there isn't one out there that cures us anyway. No need to be scared, MS is very slow and you may never get any worse than you are now, in fact with diet you'll improve.JanetTo: mscured@...: carolyjohn385@... so confused of what to do. some people say go with a natural herbs and some say chemicals wich doctors are eager it seem to subscribe. i lost the movement of my right hand and can barley walk and above all i cant remember harldy anything wich scares heck out of me. . _________________________________________________________________ Connect to the next generation of MSN Messenger http://imagine-msn.com/messenger/launch80/default.aspx?locale=en-us & source=wlmai\ ltagline
Guest guest
Hi Cait,Don't feel you've missed out because you didn't see a neuro who would have given you the same treatment anyway no doubt. There are only one or two people in this whole group who have found excellent, knowledgable, personable neuros.Adding to what I said to , I've been diagnosed 13 years now (PPMS) and obviously had MS before then. To start with, like us all, I was bitter, confused, depressed and lost. Over the years you learn to work with it better and it just becomes a new way of life. The sooner you accept it, the easier it is to deal with. At least once you are diagnosed you realise you aren't a hypochondriac after all and can start working on getting rid of some of the symptoms.Welcome to this group which have been a lifesaver to me on many occasions.JanetTo: mscured@...: cdnxstitcher@...
