Guest guest
> Any mature, respectful comments or modest, rational observations? > Interesting, at the least. From what I understand, it's well-documented that women with MS generally feel great during pregnancy, then are susceptible to an attack in the post-partum months. This also indicates a hormonal component to the disease. One woman recently posted on the BBD group that she has not had a problem post-partum thanks to exclusive breastfeeding. Makes perfect sense, since it helps to regulate hormones as well. I will have to ponder this, but my first thought is that like many other things (food allergies, stress, environmental toxins, etc), sexual repression is probably more of a " contributing factor " in the disease process rather than a major causal factor, you know? For example, I would attribute the low rates of MS in Africa to Vitamin D levels more than sexual satisfaction, but that doesn't mean it's not a factor. Guest guest
I'm sorry everyone. I did not approve this post, and I'm not sure how it got through. I will make sure the poster is on Moderated because I'm pretty sure this was meant as a bad joke. Yvette
Guest guest
Yvette, That's what I thought at first, but it's actually a well thought-out post and makes an interesting point. I can't imagine posting something so personal myself, so being thought of as a bad joke must be insanely embarrassing. Guest guest
There is something to this link.. 1. As we know from the research on LDN, LDN enhances the production of morphium in the brain. This leads - at the end of a long chain of hormones - to an increase in Cortisol, which stops inflamation and hence all exacerbations. 2. All states of ecstacy ( runners high, drugs, meditation AND orgasms) also naturally increase the production of morphium in the brain. Guest guest
, I am convinced there is a link also. After alot of research into sex and the hormones that are released in response to it, the hormone I think is the link to ms are endorphins. There isn't very much info out there on endorphins in general beyond what is commonly known about them in regards to pain control, but from what I have dug up they also relieve stress and are comforting. Anyway, the key point here is that there is alot of research coming out between the link to endorphins and the immune system. I am not sure if you are on LDN, but many ms'ers are. LDN increases endorphin levels which then modulates the immune system and thus helps MS. So if you are causing large swings in your endorphin levels due to your techniques then it would make sense that your immune system is also undergoing large swings and thus aggravating your MS.
