Guest guest
Thanks Katerina for reporting back on vibro trainers. Hope it's still going well. I'm still up for trying to see if I can use one. A foot massage might be how it has to start out but do they generally have any handrails or anything you can hold on to as I feel I should be able to work up to stand for a minute to begin with. At 350 euros it is almost worth the experiment. Where did you get yours? Do you think the vibrations would set off spasms in the legs? Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: Katerina Triadafillou Some time ago I was about to buy a vibro machine trainer and promised to post about my experience with it. I bought a small (about 40X50X120 cm) and cheep (350 euros) machine, suitable for use by persons having a weight of less than 240 pounds. There is a scale of vibration frequencies raging from 1 to 12 and it is. The model I bought is VIBROPLATE SPR-V280. (I am not advertising). More expensive models are bigger, have a broader frequency rage and are addressed mainly to professionals. Before buying it, I had a short training. There are many exercises concerning different groups of muscles and during the vibration these muscles must be fully contracted. This means that the machine is not effective if used by a peson who doesn't have full control of his/her muscles. If somebody just puts his/her feet on the vibration plate, there is no other effect than a relaxing massage.
Guest guest
Hi Janet, I am doing great with the vibro trainer. I am up to a frequency of 7/12 now and use it for 6+6 min/day. I am adding new exercises every day and the difference in my muscles is obvious. Yes, there is a central handrail (like a bicycle) and you have to grip it very tightly during exercise. Some bigger models have belts used for more complicated exercises. You have to pay much attention and start at a low frequency. I got mine from a gym equipment chain-store in my city (Athens, Greece). If you order one, make sure that it comes to your place ready to use and it is not a do-it-yourself stuff. I think the price is very low and, as an experiment, I haven't regretted so far. Hope this helps. If you need more information, please feel free to communicate.
