I wouldn't think that it will hurt your SSDI case at all. When you re-certify

they'll probably want to know all the docs you've seen anyway. When I filed they

got in touch with everyone whether it was directly related to my RA or not.

Subject: [ ] Liver function and meds for Fibromyalgia

Does anyone know anything about damage some meds can cause to our livers?  I

started Savella and neurontin a month ago and within 2 weeks had broken out in

hives. My doc said to lower dosage and try that.  The hives persisted so I made

the decision on my own to taper back off if it and resume what I had taken

before Savella, which was working fine.  Honestly, I think he put me on it as

an experiment, he did comment that I was his first patient and that he was

teaching a seminar soon on Fibromyalgia and Savella.  When the hives still

didn't let up I thought maybe it was the neurontin so I tapered off it (I was

still on a low dosage).  The hives suddenly got worse Monday night so I went to

the local Doc in the Box because I couldn't stand the itching.  The doc I saw

was very concerned about the number of meds my doctor had me on and the fact

that he didn't do a liver test prior to starting me on the Savella.  He

couldn't find anything in the PDR about it.  He said that chronic itching

sometimes accompanies liver problems.  He also asked if I had had my eyes

checked because another drug my doc has me on, Seroquel XR, requires 6 month eye

exams.  My doc has never said a word about it.   So, this doc did a liver

profile and I should hear about it in a day or two.  He gave me a cortisone

shot and said to get Zyrtec and start taking it.

I'm a little concerned that my doc is not taking care of me as he should.  I've

used him for 10 years but have noticed lately that his office is almost empty

when I go in.  Do you think it would hurt my Disabilty if I changed docs at

this point?  I just got my SSDI 16 months ago and will have to re-certify in

2011.  Thank you all,
