Guest guest
Hi ! Thats where my first pain started in my right foot about 5 years ago felt like I dropped a hammer on it, went in and had x-rays done they found nothing few years went by and I was getting all kinds of pain almost everywhere, jaw pain ,chest pain, knees I finally went to a new DR almost crying not knowing what was wrong with me he ordered blood test and sure enough the results came back possitive for RA he started me on MXT right away oral 5pills , finally got in to see a Rheumy that is 350 miles away (because I live in Fairbanks Alaska) she gave me my first shot of Mxt and I swear the next day I was almost pain free other then very tired I did ok on it. She orders more x-rays on my feet, chest ,knees the feet x-rays came back with lots of bone erison on both she started me on humira right away.I forgot where I was going with this You should go get this looked at, I waited to long, it might be possible nothing will show on the x-rays but still you need to get this looked at. Take care and let me know. Marie ________________________________ From: <ubsober2@...> Sent: Wednesday, June 10, 2009 11:15:25 AM Subject: [ ] Foot Pain... Hi I am new...my name is and I am 44. I am relatively healthy, no major health concerns aned not taking any meds for quite some time. I have been having terrible pain in the bones on the top of my feet, you know the long ones. It hurts way down onto the sides also and in that sort of delitcate area just under that little ankle bump on the outside. It has gotten so bad that sometimes after sitting for a little while when I get up to walk I feel as though if I walk to quickly those bones will snap, and like someone has just hit them with a hammer or something. I don't know if this sounds like arthritus to any of you....haven' t gone to a doc yet since I currently don't have decent insurance and I'm putting it off I guess. What I am hoping is that someone here can offer some ideas, suggestions or whatever to give me an idea of what direction to go with this. I also have the same kind of pain in my lower back and of course my knees but my knees have had quite a few surgeries to them.... I had an Aunt who had moderate RA and her mother as well. I'm sure I do have some arthritus in my knees because of all of the past injuries and surgeries done one them to repair the damage but the rest is just proving to be miserable for me since I also have 3 year old twins to chase after all the time. Any help, advice or infomation would be really appreciated. Thanks!
Guest guest
Hi Marie - Thankyou so much for taking the time to respond to m y post. I am sort of getting to the end of my rope here with it all...I imagine that it won't be much longer and I will have to make that dreaded appointment with the doc to get to the bottom of it all. I honestly was trying to find a reverse diagnosis thingy on the net that might allow me to put in all my " aches and pain " and then maybe tell me or at least give me some starting points of what to consider as possibly being the problem. I don't know if there is such a thing but some days I just feel like a big bundle of pain and soreness....I get sharp pains in the sides of my legs....I have unbelievable sensitivity on either side of my sping in my lower back...I have nearly a grape sized bump on the palm of my hand between my two middle fingers that hurts like crazy but I'm just affraid that my doc is going to say none of these are related and there isn't anything going on. If he says that then I'm right back where I started with no answers and no relief. I know I must sound like some kooky hypocondriac (sp?) just seems like everything caught up with me all of a sudden. I have never been one to want medication for anything....i usually try to ride it out on my own...but honestly, some days I hurt so much I would give my eye teeth for some relief....guess I will do something soon enough eh? It must be hard living in Alaska and having to travel so far to see your doc....mine is only 3 miles away from me so I guess I'm lucky but he hardly ever sees me. Again thanks for taking the time to respond to my post, you are the only one so far but you've been very helpful. Guest guest
Hi : Welcome to our group. I am trying to catch up on all the posts I want to answer. I was very sorry to read that you are in bad pain and suffering so much. I have had RA for 6 years, and my feet and ankles were hit the hardest, so I know exactly what you are going through. The only thing I can suggest, is when you see your dr. tell him everything, and if he dismisses it, then run, and find yourself another dr. You need to be heard, and have the dr. find out why you are in such awful pain. You owe it to yourself to find a caring dr. who will try to find out with tests and x-rays what is going on in your body. I hope you find out soon what is causing you all this pain everywhere. Wishing you pain free days ahead. Good luck at your dr. appt. Hugs, Barbara > > Hi I am new...my name is and I am 44.
