Guest guest
Dennis, do you mean that your joints have never hurt? I don't have any joint deformities, but in the past, I had plenty of joint pain. RA can affect the tendons and ligaments, though. My right little finger crooks inward. My former rheumy said the tendon on one side was damaged, and it caused the tendon on the opposite side to pull the finger sideways. Guest guest
No, I'm not saying my joints don't hurt, it's just that my muscles and soft tissue hurt more and do most of the swelling. Maybe I'm just dealing with something else and don't know it?? I dunno Dennis in eastexas On Fri, Dec 12, 2008 at 6:07 PM, Sue <marysue@...> wrote: > Dennis, do you mean that your joints have never hurt? Guest guest
Maybe, Dennis; I don't know. Do you also have fibro? Of course we're all different. What does your rheumy say about your muscles and soft tissue hurting and swelling? Guest guest
Dennis, Ask your rheumatologist next time about your muscles and any extra-articular swelling. Not everyone will develop deformities. You've been taking MTX to prevent them. Guest guest
My Rheumy worked at a teaching hospital and I had the opportunity to 'teach' some of the students, mentioning my different experiences. He never corrected me and the students were allowed to believe my explanations. Now he's in private practice and I finally went with him after bad experiences with the other Rummy. It's been almost 20 years and we've made some progress with the slowing of aggression from what it was in the early 90's.
