Guest guest
Yes, I believe that you're being paranoid. How could the flu shot be worse than the flu itself? Some people die from the flu. I have never had any ill effects from a flu shot, not even a sore arm. Just think positively and tell yourself that you will have none. Good luck! There are risks, just as with all vaccines, such as; http://coldflu.about.com/od/flu/p/guillainbarre.htm
Guest guest
You should research the dangers and make your own personal decision. Not only are there components within the vaccines in question but how our body will respond depending on the current drug regiment you are on. Squalene is an interesting ingredient, Thimerosal is another. There is no such thing as being paranoid when it comes to your health and body. *******************Internet Email Confidentiality *******************
Guest guest
Guillain Barré syndrome is a real risk because of the swine flu shot that is contained in the new vaccine. It can be fatal, and in many cases causes permanent paralysis. There are no laws requiring this condition to be reported to the CDC, so we don't know how many people have been getting it from the current vaccine. Now, it should be noted that in previous years the risk was low- there was no swine flu vaccine contained in the " regular " flu shot. With the introduction of the new swine flu component of the vaccine, the risk this year is many times higher. Do a little research about the outbreak in 1976, where thousands of people got the condition after the swine flu component was added THEN. The flu shot is Far more dangerous this year than it has been in years past due to the increased risk of Guillian Barre due to the swine flu component. I have decided not to get it. I'd rather get the flu than risk being paralyzed for the rest of my life. here is an article the New York times http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/09/health/09vaccine.html?_r=1 Here is a case study- this guy was lucky- he gained back use of his arms. http://curezone.com/art/read.asp?ID=30 & db=12 & C0=735 Here is another one, a teenager in http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/282042 There have been five reported cases already, in the US alone, and the vaccine was only released a month ago. And keep in mind, that may be only the tip of the iceberg because there is NO LAW requiring the reporting. In Canada, two perfectly healthy people got Gullian Barre from the same flu shot given in the same doctor's office: http://www.prisonplanet.com/canadians-contract-guillain-barre-syndrome-after-swi\ ne-flu-shot-in-same-doctors-office.html Both people cannot sue, because the doctor's office required them to sign a waiver before getting the flu shot. Most doctor's offices requite a waiver this year because the risk of the syndrome is so high, and they do not want to get sued. If you go for a flu shot, take note of whether they want you to sign a waiver. I am pretty sure they will. They are talking about this possibility of no-fault compensation in Canada: http://digitaljournal.com/article/276290 In this article, Canadian doctors admit that the vaccine for swine flu was rushed into production and has not been fully tested. England is also tracking Gullian Barre, although this article downplays the risk: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/swine-flu/6038460/Doctors-told-to-watch-for-Gu\ illain-Barre-syndrome-during-Swine-flu-vaccination-programme.html Guillain Barré is a real risk. I risk I personally have decided not to take. It is NOT paranoid to be concerned about this.
