I am new at this also trying to figure out how to contact the support group. 

Wanting to know how the orencia works is it a good treatment or not please

someone let me know very concern about starting this in about a couple of weeks.

I have no kknowledge of orencia  but you have contacted the support group.

My rheumy told me that there are three families of biologic medications and that

Orencia is one of those groups, kinda by itself because it is new. I am on it

and ahve been since late July of last year. I was taken off Methotrexate

because it wasn't working for me. Allow me to explain: when I started Orencia I

was already taking methotrexate. After a long period of time we determined that

the MTX wasn't boosting the Orencia like he had hoped it would. He has since

taken me off MTX and put me on Arava with the Orencia. I have had no major side

effects except hair loss with the Arava and very soft stools. My joints feel

better. They still hurt but not like they did.

If you are considering starting Orencia I'd recommend it.

Hope you find some relief and the right drug cocktail!

I have been on mxt up to 8 pills a week, folic acid, placquenil, predinisone,

but nothing seem to be working I have been in some terrible pain the last past 3

weeks.  It seems like I'm right back to square one with the stiffness, the

soreness aching feeling.  I dont have any energy to do anything.  My children

seem like they understand that all I want to do is lay in bed and rest.  I have

had RA since 05 things was going good for me those first 2 1/2 years then I

started with the frequent flare ups again, and now they seem not to be going any

where.  I have steriod shots sometimes they work and sometimes they only last

for a few days.  I think joining this group will help me some much just by

reading some of the stories I've already read.  Thanks again for the support.
