Hi, Siproena.

100 mg of prednisone a day is a whopping dose. Did I understand you

correctly? You've been on 100 mg a day for two years? For what

diagnosis are you taking that much prednisone?

Wow. That is ALOT of prednisone. I was once on 60mg per day and my pharmacist

had to call my doctor to make sure the script was written out properly because

even 60mg daily for a short period of time can do alot of damage. 50mg twice a

day for over a year sounds toxic to all organs!

You didn't say what you were on the prednisone for. Does it help?

I have often said that if I could take 20 mg of prednisone daily, life would be

fun again. I am in no pain, have no worries, am happy, and my house stays VERY

clean. Once I start to taper and specifically at 10 and 5 mg, I get very weepy

and sad. I did a taper at the beginning of last month and it was that bad I

swore I would never do prednisone again..... I was beside myself in sadness and

not so positive thoughts. I actually had to go to my doctor for anti-anxiety

meds. *sigh*

Please call your doctor and share with him/her what you told us. No one shoudl

have to feel that way

Hi Siproena:

    Wow, that is a super high dose of daily Pred.  I do not know how you can

function at all.  Does your Dr. moniter you a lot taking this high dosage?  I

have been on 60 mgs. a day for a very short period of time, then decreased

slowly to the Dr.'s dose she wants me on.  I have been on daily Pred. for over

6 years now.  I was on 10mg. due to an illness I had, and have now returned to

my orig. daily does of 5 mg.  Pred. is the miracle drug for me.  It totally

agree's with me.  The only thing I hate is the weight gain, but that can't be

helped.

 

     I hope you feel better soon.  No wonder you felt the way you did. 

That is a major dose to handle.
