Guest guest
Well i finally got into the advanced pain assoc. for my appt. my blood pressures up some prob from increased pain issues. I have to have an x-ray of my r.foot & my SI joint in lower back for arthritis issues. I'm scheduled to go back in next week for an injection into my SI / spine of long lasting cortisone stuff & a nerve numbing me (to bad the nerve med only lasts a few hrs). HAS ANYONE HAD THIS DONE WHAT WAS THE RESULTS & SIDE EFFECTS?? Shes keeping me on the percet 10mg for now but has started me on zanaflex i take it 2 days then add in topamax. She suggested trying the recently approved medication for fibro " savella " just depending on results from these 2 meds. I'm wondering if i don't have more going on cuz i have " localized " arthritis in my r/ wrist & now they say in my lower back & r. ankle so osteoarthritis was mentioned. Ive been asked by a few ppl in my life from personal to professional why I'm even doing massage therapy so Ive been having 2nd thoughts but i talked w/my instructor yesterday & now shes gonna be riding me every day cuz she says i can make it through & since my desire is to work w/elderly, disabled, chronic pain patients & possibly hospice i guess there's not enough massage therapists that want those areas & it wont be as physically demanding as some of the other fields. Ive also been researching supplements & alternative options like acupuncture, essential oil massage treatment. So if anyone has any suggesting please share with me, my hubby will b home from Iraq in bout 2 weeks & here only a cpl weeks so I'm trying to get pain more under control now & for the long run & try to prevent more issues if possible. I know wrking out is supposed to help so we (family) go to the gym 3 to 5 days a week. I have found that changing my routine to using hot tub & steam room 1st then using the machines seems to give me better endurance & i can work out longer. I used to do the bike but i found that the rowing machine wrks more muscles & burns twice the calories its also low impact so it don't hurt. IF ANYONE KNOWS OR CAN SUGGEST WEBSITE TO HERBAL, VITAMIN, AROMATHERAPY, EXERCISE, ALT. MEDICINE PLEASE SHARE WITH ME & I WILL DO THE SAME W/ANYONE INTERESTED. Try to heave the best day possible may night b a perfect day but things can always b worse TTYL, MayAnn
Guest guest
I am wondering if you tried pain patches. I like patches, they dont bother my stomach and they are slow release. They seem to be doing well for me. I have Flector Patches (NSAID) for the achy-breakies, and Fentanyl in 2 different strengths. It is a continous release and if you are truly in pain you dont get woozy, it just relieves everything. I am sure you cant stay on them for a long time, but if you have relief for a month or two, maybe you can build the stamina back necessary to deal with the pain.
