Guest guest
I would doubt it's a problem to have a style on Enbrel, but if it seems to get worse or your eye feels warm and swollen, call your doc to rule out a more serious infection. For styes, I like to wash my eyes w a drop of baby shampoo and then apply really warm, clean washcloths to try to get the stye to point and drain. Black tea bags can help the swelling too. If you are prone to styes, try using the baby shampoo nightly. Guest guest
PJ, The concerns about infections while using Enbrel are not limited to respiratory infections. The safest thing to do would be to give your rheumatologist a call about your eye. Guest guest
Patti, I think this warrants a call to your rheumy. See what he says. Guest guest
I have been really lucky in the past not to get many infections while on Enbrel, but this year has been an exception. At Thanksgiving I had a really bad cold, plus a mild stomach virus to go with it. Then at Christmas I had a sinus infection. I had a prescription for an antibiotic, so that helped, and it was completely gone. But a month later, in January, I had another sinus infection. This time I didn't have an antibiotic, and it's trying to linger on. I don't know what's going on. I'm still taking my vitamins, but they're not helping as much as usual. Guest guest
Thank you Kate, I always just would wait and let them go away on their own but I much prefer doing something to help it along, just never knew what. I used to be prone to stye's then I seemed ok for quite a while, had two chalazions which had to be surgically removed, and now I get stye's again, good to know what will help. Thanks! Guest guest
I will give him a call tomorrow. Now that my respiratory infection seems to be gone I'd like to start up the Enbrel again but don't want to risk having something worse happen. Thanks !
