Thanks Pamela.

Yes, Ashton Embry recommends 500-600 mg magnesium, 1000-1200 mg calcium and

6000-8000 iu vitamin D3.

The RDAs are respectively 300 (Safe upper limit/SUL 700), 800 (SUL 1500), and

200-600 ius (SUL 800 ius) (the latter is known to be way out of date too low).

I had been taking 600 mg magnesium, 1300 calcium and 5000 iu vitamin D but

recently increased the D to 10000 iu daily over a week while everyone else had

colds and flu. My hips had been aching which seemed to correspond with the Ca

and Ma so I'd stopped them for a while. Tests show that my calcium, magnesium

and vitamin D levels are all in the normal camp and I just wondered how long I

could risk dropping/reducing them. You have reminded me of the osteoporosis

that I already have. Back on the lot today!

Hi,

What is reccomended by Dr. Ashton Embry is thet when you take high ammounts of

vit D is about 1,200mg Calcium/600 mg Magnesium . Be sure you take Calcium if

you are taking vit D. If not it can take the calcium from your bones and you

could develop Osteoporosis.

I agree, you dont need alot of calcium in your diet. All you need

is proper vitamin d levels, that is what tells your body to absorb

calcium or not. So it is not how much calcium you take, it is how

much is absorbed.

One secret is there is a special form of vitamin k called K2-MK-7

that controls a protein called gla that tells calcium to deposit into

your bones and not your soft tissue. I take about 90 mcg. a day

and that is plenty.

Speaking of magnesium, have you tried magnesium oil ?
