The woman who unfortunately lost her life had pre-existing health complaints

outside of the MS which made the situation a bit more serious - below is the

quote from Helen Yates of the MSRC.

Helen Yates, Chief Executive of the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (MSRC)

said: “Whilst the case of the man who had to have open heart surgery to deal

with a slipped stent is accurate, the case of the woman who had a haemorrhage is

less so. The lady in question had a pre-existing condition that meant she was

much more susceptible to haemorrhage, in fact it has been ascertained since her

death that it was nothing to do with the procedure at all and was, in fact, an

adverse drug reaction to one of the blood thinning drugs exacerbating a genetic

familial problem. The first case is, of course, a reminder that no procedure is

without risk and with stenting, there is always a slight risk of the stent

coming loose.

It is important that these two cases are viewed accurately and in perspective”

I hope that sheds some different light on what has been reported without the

full story.

My second post on this; I am so p---- off right now I can't help myself. Every

new medical procedure has collateral damage. When they first did open heart

surgery, those patients had very short life spans post-surgery and also a high

percentage of casualties. Today, Bill Clinton will live for another 30 years.

You just don't STOP! Did Pasteur stop? I'm hoping this is just a temporary

suspension to re-examine procedure, rather than just STOPPING! There are MSer's

dying right now, in the same position my sister was in before she died, who

cannot wait for these people to sit around and twiddle their thumbs.

Just venting,

Beverly

Hi Bev

It's cool - so many don't do any further research about these things and just

take as a given regarding the first report they read.

Here's a better one from the MSRC
