Guest guest
Hi OKD.  Yes, I agree RA has us on a emotional roller coaster as well as the ups and downs with all the pain and suffering we all have.  I keep trying to get off Pred. but so far have not been successful. I will try again soon, and will down slowly, much slower then I have ever done before.  I have been in a medicine induced remission for over 1 1/2 years now. I would not even know I have RA. I suffered plenty over these past 7 years. I am sure you have read that since taking the B12 vitamin, all the Neuopathy pain in my feet and ankles is gone. I do not have Diabetes. I never thought I would see the day that my feet felt fine. They have been the bane of my existence.  I have my blood tested every 3 months for my Rheumy and all is good there. I also see my PCP every 5 months unless I get sick. He also does lots of blood work on me. I am closely monitored by both drs.  How long all this lasts I do not know, but I am most grateful and thankful for all this. I continue to take one day at a time. I always thought there was hope for all of us. Unfortunately, it all takes time to find out " cocktail " of meds. that will work well for us. I have a truly wonderful Rheumy and she takes such good care of me. I would be lost without her.  I do things slowly, and just do what I can each day. I go shoping with my girl friend once in awhile, as the floors in the stores have always bothered me. I am content just doing what I can.  I so hope you find your " cocktail " of meds. that work well for you. I know you have been through a lot, and I pray you will have better days ahead. I think of you a lot, and I do care about you.  I so believe there are better days ahead for all of us. Just takes so long to get to that point. Never give up, no matter what. Thank God you found our wonderful group. They are all just the best.  I know you work so I hope when you do get home you can rest as best as you can. It does help.  Take care and be well.  Hugs,  Barbara From: OKD <Cofade_2000@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Whiningfi Date: Thursday, December 9, 2010, 10:31 AM  Deb: You have a terrific attitude about the whole ordeal, I must say! You can teach us all alot. Are you saying that the prednisone might have caused your neuropathy too? Usually that can come with diabetes. Folks, there has got to be a better way. Prednisone is the angel and the devil all at the same time....the more you read, the " scarier " it becomes, Prednisone also destroys your adrenal glands, so they cant function on their own. I read yesterday it takes a long time at a SLOWWWWWWWW taper (down to 1mg) to get off prednisone, but if ou have chronic inflamm, do we ever get off it? Does ANYBODY ever get off the RA Merry-go-round? Has anybody EVER been cured of it? What is the longest time anyody has been in remission, does anyone know?
