Guest guest
Hi In 2006 was feeling lightheaded, fatigued, dizzy - thought I was pregnant. They ran some tests and found that my elevated Sed Rate alternated between 39 - 49 and my CRP 2.8-3. This is what started the whole nightmare for me in 2006. Instead of a baby I was getting ready to deliver an alien. My symptoms kept getting worse - pains everywhere, could hardly walk, stopped going to the GYM to tired, nerves on edge, extreme fatigue, weird dizzy spells, recurrent infections, etc...I went through a variety of specialist, lab test, MRI, x-rays, more labs and more specialists. I finally delivered one of the twin aliens " Lupus " October 2009 followed by RA in March 2010. I feel like my body has been invaded by aliens who have taken control of it. I am still me intellectually but my body has a mind of its own...we are in constant struggle I want to do but it screams at me - no way! It is perfectly OK to vent...if we can't vent in this forum where can we do it? As for me -I understand-there are some days that you wake up and you are feeling so lousy that you have to have a good cry. After that you pick yourself up and go on. Being chronically ill and depending on medications that have such awful side effect is more than a drag. Add to that dealing with some doctors who understand the disease process but really don't get what the patient is going through. Sometimes I feel like I am invisible - the disease is visiting the doctor not me because he only looks at labs not me. I don't blame the healthcare team unless you have an autoimmune disorder you can't possibly know what we are going through. Moreover, these conditions have a variety of differences and complications in each of us. The one thing that really gets under my skin is when people come up to me and say " How can you be sick you look so good and you don't sound sick " . That really gets me going...but I reply with common courtesy because people are ignorant of these disorders...they just don't understand. So go ahead and vent is good for the soul but don't stay there, dust yourself up and continue your race! I care and understand. God Bless you!
