If I were you, I would have cataract surgery as soon as your doctor tells you to and not delay. I had my cataract surgeries in March of 2008 and afterward saw better than I ever had before. I had always been extremely nearsighted, but chose to have distance IOL's inserted. I am no longer restricted to glasses on my driver's license. So go for it!
