Guest guest
Hi , A couple months ago Lydia (from the group) posted a study that said that people with MS were getting improvement in spasticity ans spasms with the use of Threonine. If you do a search for threonine on the search engine here, you should be able to find it. Anyway, apparently Threonine is an amino acid. Lydia said she tried it with good results, so I decided to try it also. I bought the Carlson's brand, but I bought it through Iherb.com, which is less expensive. The recommended dose, as per Lydia, is 2grams three times per day, for a total of 6 grams per day. It is a powder form and is tasteless, so can be taken in a liquid. I just took my first dose. I will let you and the group know if it works as the days/weeks go by. My biggest problem functionally is vision, but my biggest problem subjectively (most distressing to me) is leg stiffness and a little arm stiffness--so I hope this helps. Again, I'll let you all know. > > Hi, > >
Guest guest
Hi all, I have been on the Threonine (6 grams a day) for 2 and 1/2 days now in hopes of it helping leg stiffness as it reportedly has done for others. So far (though it is early) I don't see any improvement, but I plan to continue and see how it goes. What is concerning me is that I am having increased bladder/urinary problems since being on the Threonine. I don't know if this could have anything to do with the Threonine or is just a coincidence, since I do have bladder variations anyway (although it is particularly bad now). Does anyone know if an amino acid could affect the bladder? Thanks
Guest guest
Don't know about bladder problems but just want to let you know that I tried Threonine about a year ago and it did nothing for me. If you, or others (as well as Lydia) report that it does help you then I'll give it another go but I think it's a case of all our MS is different (again). Regarding the bladder - I'd more or less conquered incontinence but have noticed this week that it's back. I put it down to the sudden change in temperature. I seem to remember in pre-MS days, the cold always makes you want to pee. Vague memories though Janet To: mscured@...: trekkie323@...: Wed, 10 Dec 2008 18:49:08 +0000Subject: Re: Threonine Hi all,I have been on the Threonine (6 grams a day) for 2 and 1/2 days now in hopes of it helping leg stiffness as it reportedly has done for others. Guest guest
Yes, we are all different but I would feel realy realy bad if it didn;t work for you. I read in Life Extension that pumpkin seed oil helps incontinence but I haven't tried it. > > > Don't know about bladder problems but just want to let you know that I tried Threonine about a year ago and it did nothing for me.
