Guest guest
, Of course there could be many things happening. The increase in urination is probably a reaction of the body to the increased fluid level. You don't mention your current meds so I don't know if this applies. However if you are taking florinef because of orthostatic hypotension (OH), you should know that medication causes potasium to be removed from the body. If the potasium is not replaced, it can lead to a need for hydration. In addition, even if you are not taking florinef, if you do have OH, most likely you should be taking extra salt. One of the best ways to get extra salt is to drink bouillon. Peg takes one extra large Knorr boullion cube in hot water every day. Since we have taken care of the potasium and salt, we have not had to take an emergency visit for hydration. Check with your doctor about these items and their application to you. I am drinking a lot of fluid to try to stay hydrated, and i am urninating it out as fast as it is going in. I was taken to the hospital on thursday with a fast heart it was over 180 shile standing 135 sitting.. after 1 liter of iv it was back down. The er doctor gave me 3 liters of iv fluid in 3 hours and i gave back 3 liters from urinating. The er doctor said i needed to stay in the hospital to see what was going on. So I did. My doctor was out of town so i had the doctor on call. Wow what a nightmare. This doctor called in an neuro specialist. Instead of looking at my files that the hospital had with my dx of msa-shydrager, he had this neuro run another MRI.. and he was doing all of the test i had years ago.. I thought what the H%^% is going on. I found out that he did not get my files from the computer at the hospital becuase he said he was too busy, then he said i had a bladder infection.. I told him i did NOT!!! The nurse from the er took a urine sample from my potty chair.. JEEZ>>>> So i asked him to run another test, but with clean wipe.. and he did.. My test came back negative. To make a long story short, this doctor is coming up with all reasons why he released me today. I had to call back to him after I got home becuase my heart went back to 180 and i am still urinating everything out.. He knew that when he released me, but now he says now knows nothing about shy-drager when we were told by the er doctor that he did. Wow have I had a nightmare. But now i am still having the same problem, i have to stay down or my heart rate jumps up to high, hopefully i will be able to make my monday doctors appt with my regular doctor, and not end up back in the hospital before monday. I am not on any meds at this time so i know that is not causing this. So my question is has anyone had this problem urinating to the point of it causing dehydration and fast heart rate .. The feedback would help so much... thank you, ________________________________________________________________________ ____ ******************************** *** Peg & Jim *** # 29 Cruz Heights *** Ipan-Talofofo, Guam 96930 *** USA *** *** Note: Guam is 15 hours ahead of *** Eastern Standard Time (EST). *** 14 ahead of EDT. ********************************
