Guest guest
Aileen I can use the Physician's Formula " pencil " to cover the remaining capillaries or " spiders " on my upper cheek areas. I use the yellow covering pencil and you can " draw " right onto the prominent red vein areas. The pencils come in green, yellow, and flesh tones--the trick is to find a store in your area that sells a fairly full line of " Physicians Formula " cosmetics! I also saved my money and went ahead with a few nd-YAG laser treatments for the caps or " roadmaps " on my face. It's a gradual " fade " , and at least after the treatments, I can cover the remainder of the stubborn caps with the above pencil. It's a mild type treatment, and I could go ahead and use some cover-up on the zapped veins within a couple of days--in other words, you don't need to hide in your house for weeks--months?? on end before you're at least presentable, as I've heard you may have to with some of the resurfacing treatments that are available. I can hardly wait til the plastic surgeon's office calls me and tells me they have a scanner type laser available which is supposed to treat generalized redness--blotches on the face! Guest guest
Dawn, Nicki, et al,,,, You know I did forget to mention that I am using the " Physician's Formula " pencils in green and yellow--they cover MUCH better and stay on Now that I've had the nd-YAG laser " zap " some of the big spidery things! No make-up stayed on those veins for any length of time, before. I'd be real careful, spend a lot of time with cover-ups only to have the capillaries almost like REPEL any type of makeup or cover-up I tried to put over them. The laser shrunk and faded the more obnoxious of these veins--and I'm thinking that's why they cover easier now? Maybe Sy can help us out on this one? Guest guest
Carol, I agree w/ you that the laser zapping helped, thus it is easier to camouflage the blood vessels. The Physicians Formula yellow and green pencils are good products. The only problem is that one has to practice and be adept at using them and for busy individuals, it means more time spent. That's the only comment I get from patients. Sy M.D. Sy Skin Carehttp://www.lindasy.com Re: Lurker comes alive.... Guest guest
Thank you Dr Sy! It just seemed to me that makeup now covers better (after the laser tmts), but your comment about the yellow and green cover-up pencils is correct...it's more time consuming, but the " cover " at least stays now and for that, I'm grateful. They do have the flesh tone cover pencils too (by the way, for you folks who are lost--the pencils are made by " Physicians Formula " and sold in variety/drug stores and helpful to draw onto those capillaries we get) Carol ------------------------------------------------------------------------
