Guest guest
MTX treats the disease but it doesn't do anything for immediate needs like inflammation and flare ups, it's suppose to prevent it over the long run. For immediate needs I suggest that you don't access to any firearms. In the meantime I've found Tylenol Arthritis works moderately well for me if your doctor has not prescribed anything for pain. Hi everybody: Been doing some archive searching, everything I am feeling is here and has been experienced by someone in this group, I feel good about knowing somebody has been thru everything I am feeling right now.  Butttt.....  Right now, I feel a RA flare coming up my back, and I am trying not to panic, trying to center my breathing.  Its hard when you know what is to come. Anybody have any cooling techniques? Calming ones?  I am going to up the prednisone, but I have a feeling the MTX doesnt work right away. This is scary, i am not sure how bad it gets before its suppressed.  Dont like pain. Taking evrything I can think of to help myself, eating properly, three times a day, despite nausea, queasiness. Any more tips?  The thought of dealing with this for the rest of my life really sucks right now. OKD
Guest guest
Thanks Stan: Got the pain under control with the low dose Fentanyl Patch. I have the flares again today, both shoulders. Last nite it was back and jaw, it hurt, so I did my patch, the Pain doc wants me to keep it on all the time, I am going to take her advice. What the heck????? Flares are uncomfortable, hot, burn, which I categorize as different from the pain...Plus, they make you anxious, cause you dont know whats coming.... Learning to cope, your advices (all of you) are priceless and you have really helped me in a short period of time. THANK YOU ALL> OKD > > > > MTX treats the disease but it doesn't do anything for immediate needs like inflammation and flare ups, it's suppose to prevent it over the long run.
